I picked this hotel for the location - close but not in Manhattan. Room was clean, some of the lighting was more decorative than practical, decent bathroom, view was nice. Didn't use the panoramic rooftop bar in the end as children were not allowed and there was some process you had to follow which, wasn't explained to us at checkin and we were too tired to learn after days out. It was time consuming to get in and out of the island with a car (30 mins to/from midtown Manhattan) but convenient by mtr inc. the cable car.

First time at this hotel on Roosevelt Island and wish we'd found it sooner. perfectly situated and feels like you've really left the city when you step out of the subway station, yet you're right across the river. The surrounding area is lovely with lots of green areas/parks, it's super walkable and the views are nice. Several cute restaurants nearby. Room is clean and quiet (it was a little warm in our room); super plush towels and wonderful water pressure in shower. The hotel lobby and seating areas are charming with cozy sitting nooks, and couches and the books on the walls give it a wonderful vibe. We'll definitely stay again.

Concert trip

My daughter and I were in town for a concert. The room was clean. The view of the NYC skyline was beautiful, especially at sunset and at night. We felt very safe in this location.
