Disappointed in the decline of this property. Customer service is rough now! Unfriendly and also kept informing us that tips were appreciated when they held our 2 small handheld bags- even though we already tipped the one who took them. No amenities in the room. Not even bath towels! No coffee maker. They want you to buy their coffee downstairs of course. Room was dirty especially the bathroom. The lounge is nice but expect it to be packed at happy hour. We wanted to have a drink and snack after happy hour, but they had a live one man band playing the drums and singing a terrible song so loudly…we opted to walk 5 minutes down the road for a more relaxing experience and talk. I’ve stayed at this property before and thought it was very nice, but not again. For the money you can find a much better hotel with better service in the same area.

The location is the biggest advantage. I didn't like having to pay extra for the room, a deposit of $40 per person? Which was not refunded... so when paying the amount, bear in mind that, including tax, you will pay an extra $100 at the reception desk when arriving from Expedia. In addition, they changed our room, which we had chosen for the view - we got a "better" one with two separate beds and a view of nothing?! We were there "off season", there were few people, so it was not fair to put us in a room with no view, where you couldn't even open the windows because you could hear the fans from the appliances. If it weren't for the location, the rating would be much lower, which is a shame because the place has potential.

Lady at the front desk was rude and unwelcoming, all the other staff was kind but at check in the way we were greeted but so upsetting. The luggage storage employee was a breath of fresh air. Rooms were tidy and the place was clean, just the one employee ruined the first impressions for us.

My go-to hotel in NY. Perfect location and access to public transportation. Services is very impersonal, but the hotel is reliable and consistent. Can get expensive when NY is full. The Premier rooms are the way to go; standard rooms are way too small.

We went there to stay for the NyC marathon. I had booked the hotel 9 months in advance. Once we got there we were told they didn’t have a room for us and they were moving us to a hotel down the street. We were adamant we did not want to switch hotels as we had all of our plans set up through park central. They did not care, nor did anyone email, call or text us any information that we would NOT be able to have a room for the time we reserved. After we had already paid for parking etc. they charged us for the 2 rooms at the other hotel, which they were not supposed to for November 1st. Then they charged us and additional $700 for the night of 11/2, which my husband was able to get $300 off after speaking to the director of the hotel. We have not received credit for the initial night ($1263), and we are disputing those charges on our credit card. We have stayed at Park Central about 10x over the last couple of years and this was by far the worst customer service we ever experienced.
