I literally have an open BBB complaint against this hotel. The Empire Hotel — Room 501, May 7-10 2025 Paid $1,041.66 for 3 nights. Room looked worn when we checked in: chipped paint, peeling wallpaper, dirty windows, crusty bathroom caulk. The real nightmare hit 3:30 a.m. on our last night. Toilet water from the room above rained through our ceiling, soaking the bathroom and splashing my wife (7 months pregnant). Staff already knew the overflow was happening but chose not to warn us. We had to march to the lobby in the middle of the night to get relocated. Front desk promised to waive the resort fee, said refunds go through Expedia. Expedia called the hotel. Manager “Davis” told them the flood never happened. Luckily we have photos and video of water pouring in. Zero accountability, zero empathy, and a full-price bill for a room literally dripping with someone else’s toilet water. Do better, Empire Hotel.

Nice older hotel in a great location. Rooms are a bit dated and could use some updates, especially the room air conditioning and the pool was closed. However, the staff are awesome, attentive and friendly. The rooftop bar is excellent and fun. We enjoyed our four nights here.

Lovely hotel in Lincoln Center. Super close to the train, just a small walk. Helpful staff. Rooftop bar is nice I suggest making a reservation. They also offer baggage storage which was super convenient. Would stay here again

Poor Experience & Environment

Unfortunately my room was extremely dirty and outdated. Paint chipping, furniture broken, stained and molded corners of the room and shower and smelled strongly of chemicals. The noise and smell made sleep difficult and waking up, the window was blocked with a broken curtain, making any light entering the room impossible. I sadly would never stay or recommend this hotel for the price.
