Our bathroom, both the toilet and the sink handles were nearly unusable. They also complained that Expedia was the reason that our room choice was not reserved. They tried to "make it right the following day". We rearranged our entire day to get back by 6PM to ensure a room, of our original booking, and not only did we lose a nicer room, below the level we booked, but ended up in a closet with a tiny bathroom that had issues with the sink, toilet and shower. Also opted in for $115 breakfast, outside of the fresh cut fruit, was sub-par for continental breakfast standards at most hotels. The wait staff at the restaurant were VERY kind and prompt. Outside of convenience to Grand Central there wasn't much about the stay that was enjoyable. Room quality - below standards, bathroom unsuitable, air conditioning barely worked - would kick on and off every 2 minutes, and room was noticeably warmer than even the hallways.

The property was very convenient to Grand Central (obviously), but it was nice to step off the train and be right there. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The price for breakfast was absurd for an adult.

Centrally located for easy walking and subway use.

Great central location for walking and subway. Check in and check out were easy. It has a small market inside for your basic needs for lunch and breakfast. Clean very well decorated. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My only complaint was the bathroom was a very small and the toilet paper is cheap. Bed was very comfortable all your basic needs in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I took visited NY for the first time. The Hyatt Grand Central was the best spot to stay because it’s near all of the major touring spots. It was a bit run down than what we expected, but we spent all day outside, so we were not too bothered by how run down it looked. My husband used the gym a couple of times and it had everything from free weights to treadmills. The staff was very friendly and not short with us which was great since it was our first time in the big city. I definitely recommend staying here especially if it’s your first time in NY. We hope to come back soon! Thank you for the staff and housekeeping for making our trip comfortable.

The purpose of this review is to speak to the service that I received this past weekend from the managers. We arrived early and were offered early check in for $50. Upon entering the room was 67 degrees and the thermometer was not working. We called downstairs and they offered engineering to come by but instead of engineering coming, they brought a single blanket to our room. I let it go. Next morning, the water was turned off. That means the toilet wasn’t flushing, and we cannot brush our teeth or take a shower. After calling downstairs without an answer, we walked to the front desk and were told that they were having issues with the water since the night before. Once the water turned on there was discoloration, I ran it for about 30 secs & a dark brown liquid began to pour out, which we can all assume contains fecal matter. Thankfully, we had it on video so we showed the front desk manager Ashley R. She said she would comp a night of our stay. I was so glad it was our last day. I was contacted by Expedia, who said they were not able to get a hold of the manager to approve the refund. Instead the rep from the Hyatt hung up on Expedia. I went to the desk to speak to the afternoon manager, Kennedy D. Who assured us that he would answer the phone. He did not keep his word and Expedia has now said that they can’t comp the night because they can’t get a hold of the hotel manager for approval.Horrible service, disgusting water, would never recommend you lay your head down here.

This is a nice hotel that's clearly popular. It's a really convenient location but it's also very busy. They charge a destination fee per night, which feels like a rip off. They have a cafe which is convenient but they give no perks whatsoever - not even a coffee machine in the rooms. also, the last night was awful, there was something wrong with the water, the toilet kept flushing and running water. the issue started around 3:00 am and continued throughout the night nonstop. We had to call them twice and when someone finally came to fix the issue we had about an hour until we had to leave because we were departing at about 6:30 am.

Someone came into my room after house keeping came in and when I asked who was in the room while we were out because the windows were open and our belongings were moved around, they told me they didn’t know and proceeded to try to manipulate me in to thinking it was house keeping or maintenance, with no proof that they were actually there. After I explained to them many times that I had returned to my room after house keeping had been there and I seen that the room had already been cleaned and windows were closed, they finally took a report and canceled my old keys after I asked! There was clearly things moved around in our room and the window were open, which I didn’t touch the whole time of my stay and house keeping also didn’t touch the windows because the blinds and windows were closed before leaving my room for the second time that day. After that the toilet sprayed my boyfriend in the face when he went to flush it and the water was brown and yellow for the rest of our stay. The staff was very rude and condescending when I tried to explain to them the horrible experience I had they made me feel crazy and like I was lying. I didn’t feel safe and no one did anything about it.
