The room and the hotel was clean. The staff was wonderful really nice people. The location is so centric that is really convenient. The wifi didn’t work for me. The main thing is this is an old hotel, so be ready for that. The bed was so so so noisy. The bed springs made too much noise when you moved. I don't think I would stay here again.

Location location! Everything was so close. The hotel is older but beautifully maintained. We would have liked a mini fridge or microwave, but overall we were comfortable and safe.

Our room was clean and modern. The staff was excellent… very accommodating and a pleasure to visit with. The location was excellent.. close to theatres TS lots of restaurants. Good value to stay in NYC. Best place I’ve stayed as I’ve been here 4 times in the last 10 years.

Great location right off Time Square. Many food options, broadway, shopping and the subway are conveniently located step away from hotel. Room was clean, a bit dated and the bathroom was pretty small but its New York and the location made up for it. The room was ready early and they held our bags upon check out, will stay again.

We booked this hotel months in advance and got a really good rate. A little misleading with the photos as some rooms look like they have been refurbished however the one we ended up getting was a little run down. With that in mind though the price we paid and given the location we were the room was justified. The staff were super friendly, welcoming and accommodating. You're within walking distance from literally everywhere. The shower can be temperamental as the pressure isn't great and some days we struggled getting hot water.

Hotel St James is ideally located by Times Square. It's got a beautiful lobby and renovated rooms. But there is no ventilation in the bathroom so it turns into a sauna within moments of starting the shower. And there's no soundproofing between the rooms and the hallway, so everybody's door slam sounds like a gunshot. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Probably won't stay there again due to the bathroom and noise conditions, but was a good value for the money and didn't diminish our good time visiting the Big Apple.

Hotel St. James was in a great spot. It was clean and comfortable. No frills and could use a couple of ameneties. No in room refrigerator, no full sized mirror, no coffee/tea. Excellent deli/store next door for anything might need. Close to Times Square.

We stayed for 3 nights from the 22nd of September. The hotel is perfect for a base to explore the city. The bathroom is small but fine. Beds are nice. We stayed in the 12th floor, it was a little noisy but not excessive. Would 100% recommend
