Hotel St. James is in a good location with easy access to Times Square and other nearby attractions. Overall our experience was fine, with a few items that need to be addressed and a couple suggestions: 1) The WiFi signal is weak and very slow in the rooms. 2) Beds are very, very firm, which is actually not overtly comfortable. 3) The shower curtain is on a straight rod, which makes the curtain stick to you while showering. A rounded rod would make a huge difference. 4) While there's a mini fridge in the room, there is no in-room coffee maker. 5) Safe did not work properly, even after maintenance came to "fix" it. 6) Housekeeping came into the room without knocking first. I recommend using the Do Not Disturb sign while in the room. If they made some easy to do updates (like the shower curtain, bed firmness and coffee maker) I would stay there again.

The staff was amazing the room was clean and everything was definitely walkable from the hotel, my only issue is that it was not as it was represented. The lobby's bar was not usable and my air conditioner went out each day that I was there although they did fix it and the last day I was there they brought me a fan just in case it cut off again. Once again it was in a very convenient area and the staff was absolutely amazing

We stayed at Hotel St James for 4 nights and our stay was great. Our room was spacious and clean, and the location is perfect! We felt safe walking to and from the hotel and staff were exceptional. So close to Times Square and the theatre district. Fun fact - Hotel St James is the hotel that Tom Hanks stays at in the movie BIG!! Keep in mind, most rooms don’t come with a fridge, would recommend bringing a small portable one, if you foresee not having one to be an issue. All in all Hotel St. James was a wonderful hotel and we will stay here again!

Location for the price is superb, the heart of Times Square is at the end of the block. Good access to subway stations all within walking distance of about 5 minutes.

Location, location, location! This historic hotel is in a great part of the city. The elevators are original and tiny but work. The rooms are a decent size but the bathrooms are quite small- you can sit on the toilet and brush your teeth at the sink at the same time. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. It was a little noisy at night because you could hear the street noise from below but worth it to stay so close to the action. The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay there again!

The hotel was a good option for the location and everything but we had a few mishaps. We did not have ac in our room… so a really nice guy came and installed a new window unit at 11:00pm. There was also a 2 in blood stain on the sheets which was a little gross to say the least… but it did the trick, and our goal was to be in the hotel as little as possible so we were fine with what we had!

A bit old and could use some basic amenities such as an ice bucket and ice machine. Needs more electrical outlets and lighting in the rooms. Staff is excellent. The place could use some maintenance but it is clean, serviceable, extremely convenient to the theater district and quite charming.

This is a lovely little boutique hotel, very clean and tidy. It’s walking distance from Times Square, plenty of restaurants and bars near by and the subway is very close. The star of the hotel is Joey who was a delight to meet! I strongly recommend visiting Hotel St James.
