I thought the hotel was good however they get major points taken off because the hotel’s major selling point is the beautiful terraces that are throughout the public areas- from the lobby, lounge and 28th floors. Without giving advanced notice, I found these areas to be under major construction and thus not available during my stay. This made their very small hotel rooms even tinier because it confined you to spending more time in your room. The indoor lounge is a pleasant enough space, but it’s too dark, especially during the day so doesn’t replace the ability to sit outside and soak up the views of NYC from the comfort of your hotel. I did like the city view from my room. Bottom line, I selected this hotel because of their online promotion of the terrace and they did not deliver. This made it a good hotel stay and not a great stay. This Pod does get high marks for its Time Square location, subway, piers, Broadway, Bryant Park, upper Westside to lower east side to Tribeca, all within walking distance or short subway rides away. If the craziness of Time Square is not your thing, you can easily avoid it- the hotel is very near TS without being in the middle of it. The hotel and rooms, especially, are quite. When their terraces get repaired by the city, I would stay again.
