We arrived early so decided to visit Shoreditch before check in. We realized the area was extremely unsafe and unclean. The type of area we would have had to be in our rooms before sundown. I would compare it to the bronx of London…
To make things worst , we needed to plan our return home early as we had a family emergency unfolding back home.
We immediately returned to hotel to explain the situation. The young lady at desk was very understanding and said she had no issues cancelling but it needed to be done via Expedia as we originally booked through them.
I contacted Expedia and they agreed to cancel free of charge as long as they could confirm with the property they agreed as well to wave the fees.
I return to the clerk and she tells me she will get her manager to sign off. Her managers looks me dead in the eye and tells me they do not agree, I let expedia know about the situation as it is unfolding and they tell me they will contact the property to try and sort this out and maybe get a partial refund at least. The manager of the hotel never budged and could not care less..
I proceed to ask the manager, why he does not agree when even expedia is willing to wave the fees and staff as well…?
End of story I lost my money…
So for anyone booking this hotel in this part of London, Shoreditch is a great place to shop and eat for a day trip but not to stay in overnight!! And the hotel reviews must be fraudulent..See for yourself when visiting Shoreditch…
I like the staff very attentive and accommodating. I was allocated to a disabled room and the toilet is stained with faeces coloured, it is in room 811.
Disappointed by the "discretionary surcharge" added to the stay afterwards. Especially considering we spoke to 0 staff for the whole stay and used the digital check-in and check-out services. What discretionary service are we exactly paying for!? Disgraceful.
Room was clean and maintained but the toilet was horrible. Too high up and bizarre.
This was a great hotel. Staff was warm, friendly and very accommodating. This was booked very last minute because the Airbnb I booked had major plumbing issues. I needed 2 beds and they could accommodate. The hotel also has air conditioning which was a bonus.
Located close to Whitehall Station (10 min walk), the hotel offers a diverse area full of international cuisine restaurants. Just a few blocks off of Tower Bridge, the accessibility to London attractions is great.
The staff were great, the terrace in our room was cool. I wouldn't say it is a 4 star hotel, it felt very basic. There is a tesco just next door which is useful and a tube station which takes you to embankment. It was fine.
