Copthorne is in a great location for business, travel and weekends away.
Prices can vary so I only book when a deal is on but access from Paddington is great and then on to the city.

The opinion of a retired hotelier
The reception staff were more like government bearocrats no welcoming smile. Room 1020 2 nails in wall. Maybe stolen picture. Pillows had seen better days shower works when filling up the bath and light bulb out at entrance to room. No pen/paper in room. Fridge excellent temperature. Reception area huge but only two staff on duty customers standing waiting should be a system that the queue is orderly in order to stop people coming in from left or right sides. Left luggage staff good. There could be sweets or fruit on front desk.
The location of the hotel was excellent for our needs. The service, that we used, was good and the room staff very helpful. The room was a bit tired but everything worked ok.
The lobby, common areas, location are great. Those dreadful secondary glazed, dirty windows so common on older buildings and terrifically expensive to upgrade let the overall feel down.
finish in bathrooms not great and check in can take a long time as queues were long.

We didnt have the best welcome. Reception was blunt. Never encouraged to use the onsite facilities so we didnt.
We over heard a breakfast deal which had it been offered to us we would have used it. Room was clean. T v remote cheap and very hard to use
