Very good

The staff were very nice. The property is dreadfully dated and really awkwardly situated, the facade looks nice. The rooms felt more like a prison... the first room given to me was on the 1st floor, which actually felt like a basement room (see photo of the view) and it was next to a major construction site...the staff kindly gave me another room and were surprised the first room photo (should they not know?). The bathroom was awkward and worn/ dated, bed was ok and clean as was most everything. Proximity to Hyde Park was good. Recommend other options.

Receptionist was wonderful, she really made all the difference
A huge warm welcome and helped with a small discrepancy very well
She should be commended for how wonderful she was
Overall quite nice. Very thin walls so if a neighbour is watching TV, it’s disturbing. Small point about soap. Shower gel is not adequate for hand washing. Please put in some soap.
The only issue was Floor was creaking and breakfast need to pay extra.
It’s very nice mad white neighborhood
Restaurants are everywhere walkable.

The rooms are very old and small. The place needs maintenance. It is close to Hyde park for walking and good for low budget travelling

Hot water was an issue all 5 nights. Difficult to get the right temperature and when you did it could change suddenly without touching the controls.
Breakfast was adequate but not great.
There was stairs to our room after leaving the elevator on our floor. This was difficult with heavy luggage.
I stayed at this location October 2023. I was excited to return. Downside is currently the hotel's restaurantis only serving Continetal Breakfast. Upside, The Leinster Arms is around the corner and they have a wonderful menu. History Enthusiasts would be interested to know the Lancaster became the Douglas House. Early Who fans might be interested to know this was a club that The Detours played at often. I am looking forward to returning soon.
Disappointing stay. Reserved a twin room. On check in, no twin available but offered an upgrade that turned out to be in the basement. Room was OK but had no outlook out of its two frosted windows. Quite claustrophobic. Not great value for 200.00 GBP. Stayed here several times before and had much better experiences.
The good: It was a clean, new room.
I was there for one night, so was put in the basement with no view. The room was freezing. The hotel sent someone down to help, who advised me to turn the thermostat up to 28 to get it to respond. This was 10pm. The heating issue was probably a fluke, but I would have expected a better experience for the price.
