Very disappointing stay at the Strand Palace (22–24 August). I’ve stayed here five years in a row, but this time the experience was poor from start to finish.
Check-in queues were extremely long, with only 2 of 5 desks staffed, and neither of my rooms were ready after the 3pm check-in time. Staff showed no empathy when I explained I had an elderly parent with me.
The first night was disrupted by loud neighbours until at least 2am, and although security attended, no one followed up. Finally, the view from the room was a brick wall, which felt very careless given I’d booked two rooms.
Overall, the service fell far short of previous visits, and I left feeling let down and exhausted.
