The managerial staff was devoid of any finesse or class. We were waiting to check in for four hours and we were checked in one hour after check in time of 3P. If that was not bad enough, the response of ‘Prince’ was terrible. He conveyed the impression that he was doing me a favor by checking me in after waiting for four hours in the lobby. The Strand Palace deserves better managerial staff. Two guys who I talked to were not only managerial caliber but could not even speak English well.

The Strand Plaza is in a great location and is an excellent hotel. One thing, I asked for a taxi and got a car with driver. Triple the amount to the bus station at 4am. I wasn’t too pleased with that.

Travel from Australia, arrived at 3.00pm to check in, no room ready, sat in reception until 4.00pm. No apology given so a disappointing start. Went to the room, standard double and it was the smallest hotel room I have ever seen, a double bed pushed against one wall and not enough room to walk around the bed, tiny old fashioned bathroom. Fantastic location but over priced for what you get for your money which is not much!!
This is the ‘standard double’ room.

The rooms are always tiny. To use the toilet or shower (superior room), you need to stand by the wash basin in order to close the door, then you can access shower or toilet - it is VERY cramped.

I stayed in a previous hotel without AC (not advertised) so I change to The Strand and it was a nice renovated room with a great clean and bright bathroom and the best of all that it had a working AC
