Simply fantastic hotel that has everything you need in and out. Clean room and full amenities, close to various transportation options and very good Spanish little restaurant right across the street. Lastly - huge shout out to Thelma at reception who was so attentive during our check in and made my mom’s day with such a sweet and personal birthday surprise! She was sooo happy!!
Our 2 nights at the strand palace was a very comfortable stay .. a couple of negatives which could of made the stay perfect are that 1-the room was quite small with very little space between the bed and the wall.
2-A variety of tea&coffee in the room but not 1 decaffeinated english tea bag ,also there wasn’t any in the restaurant only coffee.
3- 2 coffee machines seemed to literally run out of something both mornings ..the breakfast was piled on a small plate which quite frankly looked terrible ..
The hotel was in a lovely position close to everything .. would stay there again despite the minor issues .

Grand hotel with maintenance issues.
The first night of our three night stay, we took a shower and the temperature regulator was not working properly. The temperature in the shower went from warm to cold to scalding hot over and over again. I reported it the next morning it was assured it would be fixed, however, that next evening, the same thing happened. Reported it the following morning, and yet again it was not fixed. It was a very dangerous situation, and they simply did not take care of it. Beautiful old hotel-food was just OK at the buffet. I would suggest going to breakfast elsewhere as there are many options nearby.
Fantastic experience. The staff was lovely and helpful. The room was clean, had everything I needed including a hair dryer and iron! The air con was wonderful during the warm days. Location was perfect, close to many shops and dining and tube stations. Will come again!
This was probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at in London, and I've stayed there countless times. It's in a fantastic area, the staff is remarkable--just a stellar place to stay.
Check in took a very long time. We had to return 3 times, waiting in line each time, until a room was ready……well after the 3pm check in time. We had just travelled overnight and were too tired to put up with this. Also the elevators were a disaster. Extremely long wait times.
The first room I checked into had a terrible man in the room next door- shouting and kicking the shared wall. Security did not hear anything, so I requested a change of room. Staff quickly took care of that, which I appreciate, but the next room had a lot of hallway noise- doors slamming, some kind of cool structure in a room nearby. For such a nice hotel in a convenient tourist location, and for what I paid for the room, I’d have expected it to be a little quieter and frankly a little nicer.
Small but comfortable room, (we booked the cheapest), remarkably quiet for central London. Very convenient for sightseeing, shopping, theatres and restaurants.
From the front desk personal which included Trian and every other front desk person I came in contact with, they went out of the way to make sure I had a good stay. The breakfast was outstanding and the location was close to everything. The bellman was also the best. He was the absolute best, he made sure we got where we needed to go as well as getting rides when needed. This was a really nice hotel all around.
