Only thing was this morning - we went for breakfast at 8.15am and after only half an hour down at breakfast, we were approached by a staff member and asked if we had finished food and could we give up the table as there was a queue waiting to be seated for breakfast!! We had only just stopped eating at that point and we soon went! Seemed a little off to me - paying £616 for 2 nights. Stopped in room 1002! Plus the floor was wet in front of the fridge apon arrival and it somehow maintained being wet!! Despite not having anything wet ourselves. Alex

Leftover USED protection rubber (condom) in the room we stayed in. Clearly showing the rooms aren’t properly deep cleaned before allowing new guests to arrive. Not impressed. And even when mentioned to staff yes they apologised but it shows how unhygienic it is.

When I arrived to check-in at 3pm, the queue at reception was huge (at least 40 people waiting because there was a group) and only one member of staff working (the rest just stood around doing nothing). I paid £296 for one night and was put in a tiny room with a window that overlooked other hotel room windows and brickwork!! I was woken by someone playing loud dance music at 4am and the music didn’t stop until after 6am (when I tried to call reception to complain) no one answered. The queue for breakfast in the morning was more than 30 people at 10am. I had to check out and so didn’t have time to queue for breakfast. Again not enough staff. When I didn’t have time to wait in the queue I asked if I could have the costs of breakfast refunded because it was supposed to be part of the rate I paid. The staff said they couldn’t refund because I booked via Expedia. Not helpful. This is meant to be a four star hotel it’s frankly robbery that I was charged £296 for such a poor hotel stay.

The room itself was fine, but almost everything else about the stay was frustrating. The lifts were confusing, and the hotel layout made it unclear where the restaurants and breakfast area even were. Breakfast was very poor — cramped seating, awkward layout, and limited food options, with basics like baked beans missing. The bar experience before our event was no better. They didn’t have Prosecco, then said they didn’t have bottles, and eventually admitted they didn’t even have proper Prosecco glasses, serving it in wine glasses instead. Overall, the hotel felt disorganised and did not leave a good impression.

Room was kind of gross. We pulled an extra blanket from the closet (duvet) and it had blood and something brown on it. Very uncomfortable bed and pillows so thin I could slide one under a door if I attempted I’m sure. I used to love this hotel but it’s gone down hill
