The hotel itself was brilliant. Was going to the o2 for the weekend and the hotel was only short distance from the tube. Everything was great, rooms are decent. All great, until the breakfast after checkout. Was like the staff was worried we were going to run off without paying. The actual breakfast was poor. Was expensive and not a lot of choice. The staff kept coming over asking about method of payments whilst eating our breakfast. And as soon I had finished my last bite,(not an exaggeration)she had come over with the card reader and the bill. Hadn’t even had time to start my coffee and didn’t bother in the end. Made us both feel incredibly uncomfortable. The lady herself seemed nice enough, seemed more of a training issue.
The hotel is very clean and the staff were nice too. At a point the room was very very cold and I had to call someone several times to come check the room temperature. Basic necessities like slippers and bath robe had to be asked downstairs at the reception. I was shocked about the deposit and it’s been more than a month and I have still not received my deposit back. I tried calling the number provided but was on it for almost an hour and nobody picked up. I will most definitely take legal action against the hotel if my deposit is not being refunded as soon as possible cause this is insane.

Good location for Excel . Modern hotel and nice rooms, will be better when surrounding building works complete .
Pool is very small and I arrived during swimming lessons so very noisy . Changing rooms not great and no private shower.
Overall the hotel was an excellent experience. It was close to the train which made traveling into the city easier. It is far out from most London restaurants but again the train being so close made it easy to get around. The staff was always available to assist with anything when needed. The bar however was closed during our stay but luckily the restaurant was open with a bar.

Loved my stay at Aloft London Excel! Spacious, modern rooms, fantastic staff, and great amenities like the pool and gym. Perfect location for Excel events and easy transport links. A few minor areas for improvement, but overall, a top-notch stay—would definitely return!
Hotel is in very convenient location, walking distance from Elizabeth line / DLR. Breakfast was very good as well. Hotel staff was very helpful and nice.
Convenient location with plenty of parking at a fair rate (discounted via the hotel) clean and modern hotel with great facilities. Would recommend and will booking again.

We stayed here for the location primarily, as we needed access to the Excel Exhibition center. While it is connected as advertised, it's not a covered pathway. So if it's raining you will need an umbrella for the short walk.
Other than location, we found our stay lacking in many areas for a four star property.
The biggest issue was with the temperature control. We had two rooms on the sixth floor, we had to call the service engineer several times to fix the air conditioning. The room would get hot and stuffy and it would take hours to cool down.
Toiletries like body lotion had to be asked for from housekeeping.
Due to the Pokemon convention, the bar area was full of noisy rambunctious children as late as mid night. The hotel staff made no effort to ensure the other guests weren't disturbed by this.
One of the bartenders was rude and condescending during a brief conversation. Food from the dockyard restaurant was also underwhelming.
Overall, we won't be staying here for the next convention as there are hotels nearby that provide better value for money.
