A few things for people to be aware of. I didnt realise there is a Manchester tax. I had to pay £2 on arrival at the hotel, this should have been mentioned on the hotels.com booking or been included in the price. We were working up at 0750 of Saturday morning by workman cracking on hammering/banging below our 5th floor room. The room itself has been poorly fitted and the bathroom had a whiff of sewage pipes. When looking out the window, the brickwork, vents and for of the building are awful. It looked like part of the side of the building was going to collapse. All highlights poor workmanship both internally and externally. The extraction vent in the bathroom didn’t work so steamed up. The room though was warm and the staff were friendly. I wouldn’t though use this hotel again.

Overall a good stay in a convenient location. Breakfast is included and can get busy, staff were quite attentive. House keeping needed reminders to service the rooms during our stay. Many guests were staying at the hotel but only two elevators, this caused problems during busy periods. I believe the building was converted to a hotel so infrastructure was not suitable.

The heating in the room did not work on one of the coldest days of the year. Staff spent hours trying to reset the heating in reception. After several hours room would not heat up. We were given a new room. The new room had an issue when the toilet was flushed, and waste water was spilling out onto the bathroom floor. This is completely unhygienic and made the bathroom unusable. We were moved to a third room. However, this room was smaller than the original room and felt cramped. At this point, my wife had a major migraine and decided to leave, taking an Uber home. What was supposed to be a relaxing stay was ruined.

Arrived to room to find someone’s dirty pair of false lashes lying on one of the bathroom shelf’s the room was quite cold and it seemed the heating was locked so wouldn’t go up any higher. We arrived after 11pm so just wanted to get the kids into bed ready for the next day so never fussed over these small things also the towel heater wouldn’t go on in the bathroom which it thing was linked to the heating controls. Breakfast was so over crowded the breakfast area is small and it was so busy no one directing people what side to que for food so people just jumping in the sausages were so dry and looked slightly burnt the beans were also like mush. We put the clean the room later on the door when we went for breakfast as we were going to get ready and head out for the day but when we returned the room hadn’t been touched. We stayed 3 nights and not once was our room seen to and no clean towels. Also there was 4 of us staying and there was only 1 pillow on one of the double beds. The hotel itself was nice and the room was spacious just a few things letting it down which could have been just because it was a busy time for them
