Wonderful

The Galaxie was fine/suitable for a one night stay. The standard room we had was quite small and you could quite clearly hear those on the other side of the wall/in the hallway/in the carpark. The service from the receptionist was also rather lacklustre. But hey, there was paid parking and it was in an alright location (30 minute walk into Oxford but close to parks and the Summertown cafes). Not amazing but adequate.

Comfy bed.
The bed was very comfortable.
Room is rather small, my window was right next to a boiler extractor, so didn’t fancy opening my window during my stay.
The decor is trying to be up market I think, but it wasn’t done the best in my opinion.
However all I really needed was a decent shower, which was very powerful! Slightly temperamental with the temperature however, and I wanted a comfy bed, which I got. What more do you really want for a business trip. Parking is an extra £10 per night though on top…..
Another wonderful stay at The Galaxie. Lovely hotel with quirky decor and well appointed rooms. Might struggle if you are a light sleeper as the blinds do let in some light and the road can be noisy. I keep returning as the ambience and service more than make up for it. The staff are really attentive and helpful and they really strive to make your stay truly wonderful.
A very unique and boutique hotel with quirky features. Loved the candy station (a little too much) but not the parking fee. Comfortably bed and acroom without a rail or wardrobe.
Booked for the aesthetic and wasn’t disappointed! The breakfast was delicious and dining area beautiful. My room was just what I needed, though the teacup/saucers were dusty and the electric kettle full of crusty flakes so I unfortunately couldn’t use the in-room tea station. And one of the travel shampoos had already been opened/used in my room. Other than those hiccups, wonderful experience here, would definitely come back.
A great hotel well positioned for shopping and transport.
Nice room and breakfast.

Weekend with friends
On the whole it was good only for one night.
I think charging for parking is milking it a bit.
The coffee machine didn’t appear to work in the room. But used instant coffee tubes instead. Would have preferred the “real coffee “
We went out for breakfast as that was also chargeable at the hotel.
So little things really & not life threatening!
Just a bit disappointing.
Great hotel, room was much bigger than we were expecting and nice view of the garden. Service was always friendly, and great value breakfast. Easy to get into town with regular buses right outside. Summertown itself is really nice too, lots of little shops and cafes. We didn't get parking at the hotel as it was full, but there's a car park 2 minutes away

Would not stay again
The hotel is quirky but services are extremely limited, no food, breakfast started too late and there seems to be hardly any staff as no one could manage to print or email me an invoice, even though I asked every day of my 4 day stay and called twice after … very poor service for just basic …
This is a little gem of a hotel in Summertown, Oxford. Exquisite, and very comfortable for any visitor - Convenient bus routes to town centre outside, also M&S a hundred yards away.
First, the staff are wonderful - friendly and very accommodating. The location is quite convenient for any local shopping or visiting. Summertown is an easy half hour walk from Oxford City Center - or take the bus, of which there are many running throughout the day and evenings. Also, for the four of us, a cab back from city center costs just a bit more than the bus (9 vs 8) We had a twin room on the 3rd floor that was in back - very quiet - and fairly roomy. We would happily book again should we be back.
