Super close to the station. there is a step free back way in but may be steps from elevators to rooms. Close to city center and the bridges.
The room and bathroom was nice. Friendly helpful staff. Good breakfast.
I had a short stay to Newcastle for music concert and the location of hotel is excellent! The front desk staffs are helpful and friendly. I'm staying the room in 2nd floor though sometimes still hear the train nearby, overall is nice and quiet. Happy to stay in near future!

Lovely staff, comfy beds but a bit tired
The friendly staff are doing there best with a tired property. The room was spotless but dated and there were marks on the curtains. The bar and reception was updated and lovely, but that makes the rest of it look even more tired. The spa area is in need of an update so don't book thinking you are going to a spa hotel. Saying all that, the room was huge (it was a superior twin) and the beds were very comfortable. I would book again, but think people should be aware of the current conditions.
Small uncomfortable beds obviously an old building but the lobby was pretty. Rooms are not good.

The location next to the station and close to the river was good for convenience and places for food/drink. The staff were very good. The hotel itself building itself looks impressive, but needs some refurbishment in places. The room that I had was basic and ok, but not particularly nice with a view of a brick wall, broken glass and pigeon remnants on the roof outside. I don’t know if this is representative of the other rooms but some investment in refurbishment is definitely required.
This hotel was unfortunately mis represented with the photos on Hotels.com and they hotel told me that the photos of the modern rooms, they had like 2. I wanted to support a local business rather than a chain or hoped to. At first glance really nice. The bar area was good too. We had rooms on the 2nd floor approx £100 each for the night. Upon arriving to the room I was disappointed, it had a lot of space but the carpets were minging, it was dated and needs a good freshen up. Nothing to do with it being period building or old. It just looked and felt dirty. The breakfast was good. Staff were friendly. But get the marketing updated to reflect the actual rooms you will be staying in. Was not good value for money and I should have in hindsight booked with a chain. Told the hotel the next day and didn't get an overly positive reply. Only if we had told then when we arrived, we were in a rush and had to get changed, out of the building to an event so we didn't have time to look at switching rooms etc.
Hotel very tired. The bedroom floors were very creaky and woke us up, not just our room but all the floors were the same. The window in our room had a cracked window pane. Which i reported. We won't stay here again.
Booked a standard double room for 3 nights. Bed was tiny! Definitely not a double bed. The pair of us slept terribly each night. Toilet didn’t flush properly and kept filling up. Housekeeping must’ve seen this but ignored it. Very disappointing. I did report it myself. Saturday night was very noisy with inconsiderate people shouting on the corridors and letting doors slam. Won’t stay here again although it was convenient for the train station next door. Reception staff were very nice & friendly.
