Pros: City centre location, Staff was polite and welcoming. Cons: No AC, Bed was uncomfortable and would move as it’s on wheels!!, Window would not stay open had to use a remote to leave it open, very outdated, Public bin on the fifth floor with bags of rubbish right by the lift with a smell of all the food, Outdated look, No bottles of water provided, Shower barely ran 👎👎

I stayed at the Hotel Britannia in Manchester for 4 days and my experience was disappointing. Here are some of the issues I encountered: - The room didn't have air conditioning, which was a problem due to the lack of window and the heat that built up inside. - The cleaning was practically non-existent. During my 4-day stay, housekeeping was never done, and the bathroom was never cleaned. Towels and sheets were never changed. - The hotel's security was a bit intimidating. If you arrived after 11 pm, you had to show your ID to a rather unfriendly security guard to get in. - The room didn't resemble the photos posted on the hotel's website. - The only highlight was the breakfast buffet, which was acceptable. Overall, the hotel felt old-fashioned and lacking in attention to detail when it came to guest comfort and cleanliness. I wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay.

The room has huge windows that let all the light and noise in. Even on the fifth floor you could hear everything outside and being just off Piccadilly Gardens it never ends. Very handy for the Village but make sure to bring ear plugs and an eye mask

Gloriously Charming

The Britannia is a glorious building, full of majestic character and charm. The room was very comfortable and a very good size.

Ideal location, value for money

Hotel lobby is beautiful, bright, airy clean. Rooms are basic, comfortable, clean. Spring mattress, was ok, few aches in morning. Location is great, 10 min walk from train station, Arndale shopping centre 5 mins away. Didnt hear much noise at night. TV, tea facilities, room has a fan, much needed. Overall good stay, did what we needed to do

I did have some issues unfortunately Second and fourth day of breakfast coffee and drink machine broken! Hash browns on one particular day were horrid to eat, came down at 9am ended up having a sausage and toast had to ask waiter for more food. No one came to clean the room, had to ask for towels and toilet paper. If I had paid 50 a night then I have no right to complain but I paid 765 for my stay plus another 87 Stirling for breakfast. I am not one to complain but with this I could not keep quiet.

More for your money else were

It is well passed needing urgent TLC. For the money there are nicer hotels in the area which I wish I would have stayed at. Felt dirty walking away.

The lobby itself is beautiful and seems to have a lot of money spent on it, staff were super friendly when checking in a knew the answer to all our questions. The location is great and pretty central to everywhere we needed to be. However the room itself and corridors smelt of cigarettes and weed, the rooms need to be updated as much at the hotel lobby. The bathroom did the job but was basic and the extractor fan is needing replaced, due to there being no window after showers the bathroom was soaked with condensation and stayed like that for hours. We payed additional for a window but it was dirty and the paint was chipped. Overall the hotel was fine for our 1 night stay however wouldn’t stay for more than that
