Nice staff and the stay in general was fine. Only let down by the badly stained carpet in the room. We did report this and were told the room is getting a new carpet soon. A robust clean of the current carpet would suffice.
The staff were all lovely and the hotel was comfortable and clean. My only issue was our kettle tripped out electric. It was to be replaced but it wasn't and so tripped out again. I could not have a coffee or dry my hair cos electric was tripped. Also usb plugs by bed didn't work.
Large family room, comfortable bed, pillows, good shower. Lovely location. Very good room service and restaurant, delicious food. Breakfast very reasonable too.
On arrival the hotel was very hectic and busy, this was due to children running riot which isn’t the hotels fault. However Mohammed on reception lacked customer service I got the feeling he didn’t want to be there, very unhelpful and rude. When we checked out no response from him or even a hello hope you enjoyed your stay what you would expect when checking out. Overall the hotel was nice but could do with investing in staff that enjoy their job and are approachable to their customers.
The family room was small and the extra beds were very basic and only really suitable for a child. We had 3 adults in our party so the sleeping arrangements were not ideal. The mirror's in the bedroom were also badly placed. The main double bed was very soft, not firm which is obviously a matter of preference. The check in time was 4.30pm and check out was 11.00 am. I thought that this was too late and too early respectively. We had to pay a further £30 to check in early, otherwise we barely had time to use the facilities. Needing to book the pool was an inconvenience as was the time being limited to 30 minutes.

We were keen to book a hotel with a swimming pool so were willing to pay a bit more to do so. When we arrived, the receptionist asked us to choose a specific half-hour slot to use the pool, and also book a specific time to come down to breakfast. I recognise that they were busy but this felt a bit pressured for a relaxed family stay, a bit like staying at a theme park hotel. Bedrooms were clean but public areas were a bit shabby. Overall not a bad stay but would have expected a bit more at the price point.
It was nice restaurant and check in staff very helpful and friendly especially the breakfast team.it was the school hols and the staff coped really well.
Modern great value hotel in walking distance from centre of York. Parking is excellent. You pay £17 you can leave car there before check in and the whole next day even after checking out. Great flexibility on parking.
Only gripes were that check in took 15 to 20 minutes. Also the bed in the room was so hard that i struggled to sleep. Much prefer a premiere inn bed. Shame had these two things been different it would have been 10 / 10.
Stayed in disabled room. Comfortable & well designed bathroom. Possibly could do with additional grab rails in shower. When the room heating was inadequate hotel promptly provided additional heater. Hotel close to York city centre with ample carparking on site (£17/day). Would use again.
Very nice hotel upon entering and the lobby, bar and restaurant space were excellent.
We ate our evening meal in the hotel and the food was good quality but a bit pricey for what it was. There was a bit of confusion over the happy hour deal but the staff rectified it for us really quickly so no complaints there.
The rooms were really nice and very clean, however, we didn't have the best sleep as the air conditioning in the room was so loud. At one point I got up as I thought one of the kids had left the tap running. We also had a pull out couch bed for our son and this wasn't the comfiest.
Overall it was perfectly okay for a night away and we wouldn't be disappointed returning but, being honest, we'll probably look elsewhere next time we're in York.
