Basis despite delux claim!

Very slow check in despite being 9.30pm, given drinks voucher to compensate but only for bottled beer or house wine! Small basis room despite delux claim, decor tired, loud AC & overflowing shower led to flooded bathroom! Breakfast ok but hot food is barely warm. Lacks the quality seen on previous stays.

This hotel is perfect for my work and visiting family. However, the rooms are now dates and for the money you pay I would expect more. There was mould on the net curtains, stains on the carpets, greasy finger marks on the bed side table, no tea. The rooms were just a bit dated and unloved.

Fabulous location. Room very clean, quite small although I did expect this in London. Breakfast had plenty of options including vegan options so thumbs up there. Tea & coffee, iron hairdryer facilities in room. Air con worked which was great as it was 29c when we arrived. Only a couple of points.... my child had autism so I needed access to the stairs as she wont use the lift to reach the first floor which my room key didnt work on the access pad. I then had to contact reception on numerous occasions to assist us to gain access to the staircase behind the hal doors which was a bit of a faff. Also my special request prior to coming was to have 2 separate single beds in our room and unfortunately the beds were already together made up with only 1 duvet cover. Overall, decent experience mixed with a couple of niggles. Aaron on recepion was a good help.

Was my 2nd stay. Check out on 27th April and checked in again on 1st May for 6 nights. We were very disappointed as what have been promised to be a better stay this time (can be viewed on my previous review) was not fulfilled. Not only we did not get our connecting rooms, we were given rooms which the Aircon not working! When we complained, they gave a cooler for the rooms instead. But it did not help much. Only after much complaining we were given another room which is cooler. We booked 2 rooms in total. But 1 room managed to be changed. Besides this issue, the restaurant breakfast & staff were good. Should compliment one of the staff in the restaurant named Reece, who is efficient and helpful throughout our stay. The Concierge should be complimented too.

The team on arrival was very good, even I asked for a late check out which is extremely early and it was alowed just for two hours more. The Instalation of the hotel it not in very good conditions and the bathroom is REALLY small. The room was very hot. But the worse was on the last hours of my late check out it was knocked out my roo and said that it was not avaible. I packaged my goodis and leave ant told on front desk about the issue with was solved friendly but its something that should not happen

Been staying here for many years and it’s really gone down hill. The service is very friendly and staff are nice but rooms and some parts of the hotel really need refreshing. It’s definitely loosing its charm.. beds and pillows are cheap and uncomfortable. We had to change rooms 3 times due to air conditioning and some mold problems.

I booked an executive room and can honestly say I have stayed in 3 star airport hotels that have been better than this. The room was NOTHING like shown here in the pictures. There wasn’t even a window. The carpet were dirty and there was mold in the corner of the room and I meant a LOT of mold. I didn’t want to walk in there without shoes on. I actually booked an executive room for two nights and a standard room for one night for my parents and I didn’t even want to see what that standard room looked like. The lobby area is lovely and the staff is as helpful as they can be but they couldn’t move us even after complaining. They moved us for the 2nd night and the ‘upgraded’ room they put us in didn’t even look like the pictures shown here. It was honestly the worst hotel experience I have ever had. I’m not one to write reviews but after spending almost $1,000 on rooms I had to say something so that others don’t do the same. To top everything off the TV didn’t work in any of the rooms either and that’s not good when you have a jet lagged 2 year old waking up at 3am! Just don’t stay here.

Missing items in my room such as slipper, iron table, bottle of water (nothing in the fridge). I use to come every 2-3 months. Breakfast was a mess on the second day, most of the plate were empty at 8.30am - tooks almost 20mn to refile. Last day, I've asked for a late checkout, was told it was not possible because the hotel was full, but when I checked out, the front desk received severals calls for late check out allowing until 3.00pm by paying extra pounds per hours after 12. Bad experience this time.

I have stayed at this hotel maybe 40-50 times over the last 6-7 years and is just not as good as it once was. Very poor check-in. I booked a standard room and was informed they no longer had any left and i was allocated an accessible room. Clearly overbooking, I requested that if they couldn't give me what i had booked then they should at least offer me an upgrade. After 10 mins of waiting around the head receptionist informed me that if i wanted an upgrade I would have to pay for it. - I didn't, i wanted what i had booked ! After another 10 mins of going backwards and forwards, they miraculously found me a standard room. The room - No shower gel left in the dispenser, television didn't work. Breakfast - £22.50 and massively overpriced for what's on offer. Check out - Although I had pre paid through Hotels.com, i was asked to leave a £25 deposit for extras charged to the room. After checking out being told all was OK, my card was charged another £140. I went back to the hotel to query this to be informed that there had been an error and would be refunded. 7 days later this is still being shown on my statement and attempts to speak with reception staff is challenging at best. To summarise , this is just becoming another standard, dated, London hotel who rely on tourists just passing through.
