Very good

We went for two nights and stayed for four. This was our second visit in a couple of months. They say the staff make any business and in the case of the crown this is the truth. In all the thousands of hotel nights I’ve had in my life I’ve never known friendlier and more helpful staff. Special mention to Kasey and Zoe on Reception for all they did for us.
The hotel is a period property and absolutely in character with the town. You can feel the splendid history of the place as you sit in the magnificent reception. The new executive breakfast option is an absolute must, well worth upgrading for. This is a really well run business.
Everything about our stay was first class beginning with the reception desk then the room that to our surprise had been decorated by the housekeeping staff for our anniversary and my birthday, such a wonderful surprise.
Good sized room , did not eat so can’t comment on food . Parking is limited but pay car park very close

We stayed for 1 night in an executive room which automatically allocated you to have an executive breakfast. The room was basic, not enough plug sockets for 2 people. There was no working extractor fan in the bathroom. If this was an executive room I wouldn't like to see the other types. The upgraded breakfast was served in a different room, it was a bit more modern. A small selection of pastries, a token offering of a few slices of cheese and ham, a bit of fruit. Nothing to make it stand out from any other breakfasts in other hotels. The cooked options were ok. Disappointing to say the least
Only one thing parking no good £15 per night I parked on the road
This needs to be high lighted better

Great old building, but a bit tired, including the room. Great location though and very helpful staff. Parking system chaotic.

Great location. In the centre of town. The hotel could do with being updated. Don’t think you should have to pay for parking @ $15 a night if you are staying at the hotel.

There are pro’s and cons for this hotel.
Pro’s - staff excellent. The communication prior to stay was fabulous and prompt. Very good location for visiting Harrogate.
Cons- room was not good, carpet on way to room very threadbare, room very clinical and felt dated and unclean. The windows needed a good refurb. Bed very uncomfortable. Shower so small it was difficult to turn around in. Kettle was full of limescale so definitely didn’t use.
I don’t think I’d recommend the hotel because of the cons which is sad as the staff were lovely.
Nice looking hotel, a little tired in the room we were in however it was functional and clean.
If you want parking you need to pre book even if its disabled parking however there is parking a short walk away.
Very close to the Harrogate shopping area and local pubs, bars and restaurants.
Arrived on the Saturday at 1600pm...reported to reception no hot water. Told it would be sorted, on leaving to go out at 1900pm still no hot water...told by reception you can have a shower when you get in from your night out. Next morning still no hot water and told on leaving that it would be sorted that day. We were on the third floor room 329 i think Mr and mrs Jones. We were fobbed off and there was no remorse from reception. No one offered recompense or anything. Very poor as we have stopped there on many occasions, but no one seemed to care.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel for 2 nights with my 2 dogs. The rooms were very clean, and the staff were absolutely lovely and welcoming. It was a comfortable and pleasant experience, and I’d happily stay again
