We had a lovley stay at the Milner, our room was really nice however some of the furniture was damaged and would bennift from being replacement but our overall stay was lovley Our superior room had a beautiful big bathroom, very relaxing couple of days....

Amazing hotel! Conveniently located just next to railway station. Close to York’s historic town centre. Milner York is a very elegant hotel with great leisure centre, bar and lounge area. There’s a Beautiful cantilevered stone staircase. Would recommend 100%.

Great staff & the hotel down stairs and around the grounds was beautiful. Once got to our room we were a little dissapointed - very small room, mould on bathroom ceiling, no lighting in half the room so couldnt see when ironing or to use full length mirror & couldnt hang clothes due to the kettle etc being directly under hanging rail. Dispite these things the room was clean and exellent location.

Another great break

As usual the staff were so helpful and friendly from check-in to checkout. We had ordered fruit for our room, and what a selection was waiting for us. The room was lovely looking out over the garden towards the Minster. The photo makes it look like it quite s distance but it isn't really. There were teas, coffees and biscuits available, due to medication we asked for decaf drinks which we given by reception. Breakfast (self-service) and evening meals have good choices for whatever you feel like. The hotel being next to the station, it makes travelling so handy as its straight into the hotel from the station. A lovely break and we'll be back.

We stayed one night at The Milner York and absolutely loved it. The location was perfect—just a short walk from the city walls and everything we wanted to explore. Our room was beautifully appointed, quiet, and full of character, with thoughtful touches that made us feel truly welcome. The staff were kind and attentive, and the whole atmosphere felt charming and peaceful. We’d happily stay here again on our next visit to York!

Hotel is conveniently located close to the train station and about a 15 minute walk to town where all the attractions are. Beautiful lobby and grounds. Our room was a bit small but would’ve been fine except the sink and shower did not drain. I suspect it is an ongoing problem as there’s a moldy smell upon entering the room.

Great hotel in great location.

The Milner is now our go to hotel on our regular visits to York. Although an old building it has a modern, clean and cared for hotel. From reception staff to the cleaners everything was perfect.

Disappointing, overpriced.

My daughter was really excited about her stay in the four star hotel but she felt like it was a better experience in the travelodge. No tea and coffee, no hairdryer, majority of tv channels did not work, communal areas had many stained carpets and smelled funny, customers in the pool were rude, parking expensive. She was disappointed about our posh stay away :( We’d rather spend less next time.

i paid extra for a room with a view of the gardens and i got a view of a canvas bar taking up half of it, not what the pictures suggested at all. There was a wedding in the hotel on one of the nights and the music was so loud you could here it clearly in our room on the 2nd floor which spoilt our quiet night. i asked at reception if something could be done but they were less than helpful. Overall the hotel and staff were excellent.

This was my second stay at this hotel. I came back because I really liked it the first time, although it has changed hands since then. On arrival, our rooms were ready. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our baggage was safely left in the luggage room on the day of our departure, which made it so much easier on our last day. It was even brought to our table when we decided on a last-minute drink in the bar before heading to the station. If I had any gripe at all, it was in-room information. But this seems to be the same in most hotels these days. I miss having a menu, opening times, local sights etc in a booklet or folder. So convenient for the train station. Be aware that there is a door right next to the station. The first time I went, I walked all the way around the building to the front entrance! Would definitely stay here again.
