The room was freezing as the main heating wasn’t working, and we had only a tiny plug in radiator which was not explained to us on arrival. The room was very dark with limited lighting, which wasn’t good when getting ready to attend a wedding. I shivered all night and paying over £400 for two nights I’d expect the basics of a adequately heated room. I wouldn’t stay again and I would t recommend to anyone. I think in total we had over 10 rooms booked and the majority were inadequate for the price paid.
My only disappointment was that I had requested an upgrade before my stay. I had an email confirming that was possible but on check in was told that it wasn't then possible.
I had an early 7am appointment the next morning and requested the upgrade to facilitate the fridge for my yogurt so I could eat before leaving tbe hotel ( breakfast didn't open until 7am at the hotel).
Therefore I had to leave my yogurt in the bathroom sink full of cold water. It was far from ideal when I had paid over £350 for a 2 night stay!
It seems as though the hotel is being ungraded in some areas. Bathroom was good decor wise but the room itself was in need of an upgrade in it's decor. Very dark room with poor lighting.
Staff very friendly

Not going again
Lack of info regarding car park and how to access on arrival
Dark room, no mirror over a desk/table/dressing table to do hair and make up
No working extractor fan in bathroom to extract steam from shower
Noise until after midnight from room nextdoor
Worst hotel experience ever. The rooms are dirty and the walls are papert thin. You can basically here any conversations from next door and from the corridor witch makes impossible to get a good night sleep. The hotel is shoulting for a refurbishmant and there ar serious issues with cleanliness. We even found receipt in the room probably from the precous guests. I do not recommend this hotel.
Nice hotel, standard double was fine, but not mind blowing. Pretty basic small room but it all worked and there was some tea/coffee and kettle. Hotel is in a good location, near nightlife and maybe 10
mins to the hippodrome.
Nice Hotel in a great location, our family room seemed to have been recently refurbished and was very comfortable. The carpet seemingly hadn't been replaced though and was therefore pretty grubby - seems odd not to have replaced the carpet as part of the refurb. Bathroom was very nice and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was disappointing I'm afraid, not a lot of choice and the cooked option looked low quality so I opted for the continental option. All staff were lovely and very helpful

Typical business hotel
The Grand must have been an excellent property in its heyday but needs a facelift and some sprucing up.
Great for business travel if you're out all day.

Stunning hotel right in the centre of Bristol, only down side the bar shut at ten!
Firstly the hotel is in the middle of the city and only a 15 minute walk from Bristol temple meads station which makes it perfectly situated. The hotel is in a gorgeous part of the city in the middle of old Bristol. The service was superb with book in really easy and friendly staff. Room was clean and I’d stay here again without a second thought.
