The hotel was perfect.Friendly staff made it easy to check in and out after our stay. The food was really good and lots of it . The drinks in the bar were sensibly priced . Room was clean , tidy and ready on time . The mattress on the twin beds was a bit hard . But I suppose the hotel can’t cater for different people mattresses preferences.10 minutes walk into York which was good and when we ordered a taxi on the last night the drivers were brilliant and the fare was a good price 👍

Great stay, great place.

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff were brilliant and very helpful, location is perfect and room was great. Breakfast was amazing with lots of chooce available. Only slight blip was the water pressure of the shower. But thks did t detract from a lovely weekend away. Will certainly look to book again.

Staff were very welcoming. Rooms were fine - clean, shower good. Squeaky floor boards & soft bed but what do you expect - it's not a chain hotel. Tasty breakfast. Parking out the back a little tight but its free! But this is really nitpicking. I'd book it again if in York again.

We had a pleasant stay at Wheatlands Lodge, located just a 15 minute walk from both York city centre and the train station. Set in a quiet residential area which was nice to come back to after wandering all day. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a closet, makeup table, and a coffee and tea station. Even though we were only there for two nights, the room was still serviced, which was a nice surprise. Breakfast and dinner are served on the main floor, though we only had breakfast during our stay. There was a good variety of hot and cold options, with starters, main dishes, juices, tea, and coffee. The service was great with the full house. The hotel also has a bar and lounge area, plus a spacious front garden where you can relax. We also enjoyed a visit to the movie theater just a few minutes away—great prices, a wide variety of food and drink options, and cozy seating. There's also a convenience store nearby, which we are always finding in our travels. I would definitely stay here again.

An amazing stay from start to finish. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. It was like home from home. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were nice and big and the bathrooms were equipped with everything for a great stay. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. There was a great bar there and the garden outside was nice to sit in too. The breakfast menu was fab and had a lot of choices including for vegans. I didn't try the evening meal menu which looked great as it was fully booked during my stay which is a testament to the quality of the food there. I would definitely stay there again and can't recommend it highly enough.

Parking is a nightmare at this hotel. Our car was blocked in every night. On check in we were told to book by 4pm if we wanted dinner in the hotel. On the second day of our stay I tried to book at midday only to be told that dinner was fully booked. Asked the Receptionist if we could have a sandwich only to be told they don't do sandwiches after 4pm! She suggested 2 places we could eat which were a 20 minute walk in the rain as I couldn't get the car out. After walking in the rain the place she suggested was not serving food that day. If a 60 room hotel is unable to make a couple of sandwiches to save two 70 year olds from getting wet through then that is a poor job!

i enjoyed my stay the only thing i was not to happy about was there was no lift and i have a job walking up stairs and we were on the second floor ,even my daughter had a job getting the case up and down the stairs
