Comfortable and convenient.

Very comfortable and convenient hotel. Easy to walk to from the railway station. Easy also to walk onto York centre to do tourist attractions. Loved the restaurant on the roof terrace. The downstairs restaurant was also excellent for dinner and for breakfast. We paid a little more for a club room which had a generous seating area and a city view.

The hotel was great , very clean, modern & a few minutes walk from the station and the surrounding areas re- shops & pubs , restaurants. . All staff were extremely helpful & pleasant. Only thing I would say is more choice on their menu for main meal. However, everything was cooked to perfection including breakfast . Had a lovely stay .

Disappointing stay

No connecting rooms as requested, no parking as stated when booking, no perks for platinum membership - no upgrade no extras. Receptionist when booking in didn't seem to be bothered about our displeasure at the issues, this made the process even more frustrating Hotel room was noisy from street noise throughout the night

Really easy to get to from the Station. Welcoming staff. Personally found the room really dark, particularly the bathroom area. I'm sure that's just a personal view and some people will like it. Also found the music too loud in the bar area so I couldn't concentrate when trying to work.

The room was well-appointed, but the lighting was terrible! So dark & the automatic lighting went off if you were too still, e.g. when toothbrushing of shaving. Bed was large & comfortable, shower was strong, but basin as large as kitchen sink, so took ages & a lot of water to create even a shallow depth (not very eco). Reception was efficient, but not warm & welcoming. Restaurant & top bar, much better service. Food in restaurant was excellent

Boring and dirty

We loved York! It was surprisingly beautiful and interesting. But the hotel was not. The tiny room was dirty with a stained floor and when we pulled back the comforter it pulled the sheet revealing blood stains. Very gross and disappointing. We would go back to York again but not stay here.

Was a nice hotel, I did order a few things to the room for our arrival for our 1 year wedding anniversary, they managed to display the chocolate plate but no drinks. Room service you could only order food from the QR code and not drinks. Lots of dust on the ledge behind the bed, and someone walked into our room 45 minutes into our stay. Apart from that it was a nice stay.
