We arrived at 2pm to check in, but the room wasn’t ready until 3pm. We left our luggage in the storage room and returned to the hotel around 9pm to quickly get ready to go out. However, upon checking in, we were told we didn’t have a room.
After waiting for 1 hour and 20 minutes, we were informed that our room had been given to someone else. We were finally accommodated in a different room around 11pm—unfortunately, far too late to make our restaurant reservation.
Unfortunately, the staff we dealt with were not very polite and came across more comical than professional, which didn’t help the situation.
We did still head out, but opted to take a taxi as it was too late to walk to the Barbican, which is about a 15-minute walk away.
The next morning, we went to breakfast shortly before it closed at 10:30am, arriving around 10:15am. While food was still available on the hot plates, most items were lukewarm and quite tough in texture.
