Anniversary break - great hotel choice

We had an amazing stay. Wonderful greeting, anniversary treat & personalised message in room that was absolutely spotless. Even the kettle sparkled! Very comfortable bed. Ate dinner in Leaf restaurant. Great welcome from very friendly waiter. Did not get his name but he had slight accent. Waitress with dark hair also very friendly. Brought another anniversary treat! So convenient for the Castle and town centre. Cannot praise the hotel and its lovely staff enough.

Have stayed at the Castle Hotel many times, but on this occasion was allocated a very cold and drafty room on the ground floor of the annexe (#535). The air con was very noisy and suffice to say I didn’t have the best sleep! However, a well located hotel with friendly staff.

The property is noisy. Walls are extremely thin. The comforter and sheets were yellow from bleach and need a new set. There was a hole in the wall, something with a foul smell through the hallways and no lifts to certain rooms.

From the moment we entered,until the momemt we departed, we were made to feel like royalty. Excellent location. Every detail is taken care of from a nice book selection to afternoon tea in your room.

Very good staff room was a bit tired for the price ! Despite paying £20 for breakfast had to pay £5 supplement for eggs Benedict which I think was outrageous Bar manager best thing about the hotel very knowledgeable and dry sense of humour
