Great hotel but problems with WiFi

The hotel has great service. My room was large with good lighting, great view, good work area. The staff was excellent and made you feel welcome. The only problem I had was WiFi. I could use it on my phone but I could not use it at all with my computer. It apparently had a conflict with my automatic backup to the cloud.

A well located hotel albeit a little tricky to understand entering if arriving by foot. The hotel itself is a grand old hotel with large rooms, large beds and all of the amenities you would expect and need. It does feel a little dated. I don't think it would be unreasonable to say its intention was originally not geared for international tourism and they have made updates to restaurants, facilities and rooms to try and be more so. The check-in was efficient although jacked the usual warmth of Japanese hospitality. The breakfast was disappointing so I would recommend dining out. It doesn't offer value for money.

We extended our stay in Tokyo by one night For my birthday so we booked this hotel on a whim. We chose a superior room to have a little bit of extra space which was nice. Be mindful when booking rooms and check the square footage as some of them can feel like small closets. The lobby for the hotel is located on the 24th floor so it was a bit of a hassle lugging six pieces of luggage to the hotel lobby. They do not have any Bellman or luggage services awaiting for your arrival to assist. We also had to lug the luggage to our room ourselves. The hotel is conveniently connected to the train station, although it is a little tricky to navigate. There are only a few dining options nearby so I highly recommend including breakfast in your stay. You also need to make reservations for their on-site restaurant and tea and were disappointed that we couldn’t utilize either of these because their reservations were already completely full. They also don’t do anything special to acknowledge or celebrate your birthday, which was a little disappointing- Especially when spending over $400usd for one night. Our room was located on the 37th floor and it was extremely hot the entire time. There’s a small humidifier in the room and I found that when we turn that on, cool air does blow out so that helped me to sleep a little more comfortably, but I would definitely ask for a room on a lower floor, especially if you are traveling During a high temperature season. Our room never cooled.

Unfortunately, we had higher expectations for this 4-star hotel. We booked a premium king room, but it turned out to be two double beds pushed together… not an actual King. (Not sure if this is common practice in Japan) Cons: - Odour: Every time the toilet was flushed, the room vent released a strong sulphur-like smell. - Water temperature in the shower would suddenly spike to very hot for a second or two, and this happened every few minutes. - Bidet Malfunction: it did not retract after use. - Cleanliness Concern: We found a small zip bag containing unknown pills under the bed… leftover from a previous guest. - The process for the executive lounge wasn’t clearly explained at check-in. We were given a coupon to present at breakfast, but during appetizer/cocktail hours, staff still asked for our room number. Should inform guests at check-in that they’ll need to provide their room number each time (since key card access is restricted to permitted floors, it felt disorganized and unwelcoming). - Dress Code Surprise: Pyjamas were provided in the room, but we were told not to wear them to the executive lounge. It would’ve been helpful to be informed during check-in… especially since our previous hotel in Kawaguchiko encouraged relaxed attire, including pyjamas, at breakfast. Pros: - Excellent: Great selection of food and drinks at the executive lounge throughout the day - Convenient Location: Walking distance to Shimbashi Station, Ginza, and NTV Big Clock - Efficient check out

Great staff and convenient location, WiFi problems

Great staff, good location, and large comfortable rooms. Only problem I had was that the WiFi worked well for my phone, but continually stopped when I was trying to use my new Windows Surface computer. I am guessing that their WiFi is metered and would stop when my computer was trying to sync my files to the cloud.

This was a great hotel! My wife and I visited Tokyo for the first time and wanted to find a hotel that was clean, modern, comfortable, and had all the amenities. This was it! We had several excellent interactions with the staff - they strived to meet our needs. The location of the hotel is excellent. The train station is a short walk away along with shopping and restaurants. I have no critical thoughts about this hotel. We will definitely be staying again the next time we visit Tokyo!

Great hotel but room had undesirable odour

Large clean room in a modern hotel in an excellent location for visiting Tokyo. However, the room unfortunately had a faint but persistent odour of sewage that was worsened by flushing the toilet. We had a similar experience in Kyoto so this may be a common issue in Japan. We opted not to complain about it to avoid the hassle of moving rooms.

The location is excellent. Everything is great except the decorations looks a bit old. The staff at front desk did their job efficiently, but we expected they have more smiles and more friendly. One thing needs improvement is the laundry room.
