Not in the center of busy Shinjuku, but close enough to walk to the center and station. Conveniently located, the staff was very nice and friendly!

The hotel was clean, the staff extremely accommodating, and the room cleaning service they provided either automatically or on request, was immaculate. Despite our groups extremely limited Japanese, we were able to communicate with the staff with minimal effort. The rooms were on the small side, but we expected it and it wasn't a problem at all. Despite the extreme heat and humidity, the hotels air conditioning out-muscled it easily for some comfortable nights, and we're sweaty Americans. Overall, would absolutely stay at this location again, and other APA hotels in the future should the opportunity arise. To the staff, Arigato gozaimasu!!

Great location, comfortable stay

Bath was great. Men’s gets a little busy at night. Laundry seemed available most times. A lot of little conveniences (kettle, tea and coffee, slippers, ice machine, deep tub). Rooms small but not for Tokyo. Great, quiet location, 15min walk from Shinjuku Station, and on the corner with Shinjuku-gyoenmae station. Self check in was a little finicky but staff are helpful.

The AC turned off midway through the day, making the room a hot sticky mess. This made it very uncomfortable to come back to after spending the day out getting hot and sticky ourselves. At one point we had the idea to leave one card in the slot to see if it would stay on during the day. It did not. The bathroom smelled like sewage and the room always smelled musty - probably due to the humidity in the building. This all in turn made our luggage smell musty. There was a line that went out the doors when we were checking in and the staff member was handing out gift bags but skipped us. We were the only foreigners in line. Upon arrival, our sheets had a small amount of what appeared to be blood on them. The staff did change them upon request.

The hotel itself is a good value as it’s conveniently located near the center of the Shinjuku neighborhood. The hotel is nice and well cared for. Service is good and its very quiet. HOWEVER, this hotel has EXTREMELY tiny sized rooms. Tiny even by Japan and European standards. It’s basically a walk-in closet.

Just fine

APA hotels are like Comfort Inn in America, they're never great, but never bad either. Everything about this hotel is fine if you know what to expect from Japanese hotels, my only complaints would be the view (the window was frosted over so you couldn't even see out of it) and the bathroom situation, which tries to strike a balance between Japanese and Western style and fails at both (the tub is so tiny you end up splashing water everywhere).

The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is yiu can tell smoking used to be allowed, although it’s now non smoking you can still percieve a hint of cigarette smoke odor, this is common in Japanese hotels in my experience. Other than that it is perfect for exploring the Shinjuku area especially Shinjuku NiChome
