Ueno park hotel with friendly staff

Pretty typical three star hotel for Tokyo. Easy access to multiple systems of transport, close to Ueno Park, Asakusa. Very friendly staff, limited English and definitely not enough laundry facilities for the number of guests. Great pajamas!

Friendly staff

Had a bit of an issue with the shipping of my luggage to my next stay, but the staff was very helpful and nice about it. I would definitely be coming back to this hotel for my next trips!

Solo travellers beware—this hotel failed me when I needed help most. I stayed here twice (23/03/25–27/03/25 and 03/04/25–07/04/25). The first visit was fine, though staff were cold and the hotel felt transactional. No free water, only paid bottles. Small but clean rooms with a good Skytree view. The real issue came during my second stay, when I became severely ill with food poisoning the day before checkout. I could barely walk or stand and was vomiting violently. Despite seeing my condition, the two receptionists on duty—both women with ponytails and glasses—offered no help. I begged for medication or assistance; they refused, gesturing “no” and telling me to walk to a pharmacy or visit a hospital. I even ran outside to throw up, and still, they did nothing—not even check on me once. If not for a friend who arrived hours later with medicine, I don’t know what would’ve happened. To the manager: review CCTV from 06/04/25 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to see how poorly your staff responded to a guest in distress. Their indifference made an already awful experience far worse. This hotel failed in basic duty of care. If you're traveling alone, I urge you—stay elsewhere. It’s not worth the risk and your safety is paramount.

Great location to base from for a few days in Tokyo. Lovely hotel and nice and quiet rooms. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I have also stayed at at the other Ici location nearby and both are great, solid choices with comfy beds.
