This is a nice hotel. The lobby area, restaurants and garden especially. The rooms however are a bit worn and dated. They are working through a refurbishment, so I guess this will be rectified but it did mean some noise from this. There is also construction outside the station so the whole area feels like a building site right now. The view from my room on a high floor across Tokyo was superb though so would definitely be worth the rate once refurbished. This hotel is up a hill from the station and behind others in the complex. It is a bit confusing to find by going through one of the sister hotels and then the gardens. Also the shuttle bus to the station only operates from the hotel next door, which is closer to the station anyway so it made no sense to me and I just walked up and down the hill each time. This is fine so long as you don't have a lot of luggage and are quite mobile. Breakfast I felt was very expensive, even the discounted price booked ahead but there was a good choice. There is a 7-11 in the lobby though which is great for drinks and snacks.

Pros: hotel was very clean. The staff was amazing and spoke English. Rooms were spacious, especially for Tokyo. Cons: the air conditioning in my room was super weak. It never got below 77f for my entire stay. This made the room uncomfortable to sleep in. Also the rooms were dated. Looks like they came from 2005.

If you are coming from America the room will probably be older and more run down than what you would expect at this price point. Also, we visited in the summer where the outside temperatures reached the low nineties during the day. Our room never got cooler than 76 deg despite setting the AC to 65 deg. This made sleeping pretty uncomfortable. When we brought this up with management they said to use the floor fan located in the closet. Not the solution you would expect from a four star hotel. Otherwise the rooms were neat and clean. The air-conditioning was working in the newly remodeled lobby however...

Everything was great except the floor we were staying on had an old mildewy smell. Room was not smelly but the A/C unit itself blew humid air. I left my hat on the vent and it was wet in the morning. They were renovating while we were there, though, so who knows how it changed.

The hotel is located near to a large train station so was very convenient. It’s a large hotel so lots of restaurants and it’s connected to other hotels by a beautiful outdoor garden. It’s going through a renovation and we were in an older room that clearly had some older furniture and wear and tear.

Stay Away unless it’s a significant bargain

Not convenient to the train station. Rooms are very very outdated .. furnishings are 30-40 years old. Room has an old dated smell and the air conditioner won’t cool the room to a comfortable temperature. Definitely not a 200+ dollar room in Tokyo. The lobby is dated and the staff is rude.
