Staff were professional. Alicia in the bar was fun and friendly while also remaining professional. The room was a little funny in that the door to enter was directly in front of the bathroom door, but we managed just fine. The bathroom floor was a slight step up, no big deal. Our view was not great, but the room was quiet.
The hotel offers some nice amenities in the lobby: a filtered water dispenser for filling your own bottles for the day, free popcorn at night, cookies in the morning, and coffee. No in-room coffee, but they make up for it with Torani syrups, including sugar-free, plus all the standard sweeteners, AND three different cream options.
The pillow menu is delightful! The walk-in closet allowed us to tuck away everything, so the room wasn't cluttered with our belongings.
I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The beds are very soft - not in a bad way - I found mine to be very comfortable! The problem is that there is obviously a preferred sleeping side, and they need to turn or flip the mattresses. We slept diagonally and solved the problem. A minor issue was that the blackout curtains had dropped a hook, so it was difficult to shut them. I notified staff of these issues upon our departure.
All in all, a lovely stay at a historical SF hotel.
