Location and relative safety of neighborhood was welcomed. Gym was quite nice. Room had semifunctional items such as closet doors that didn’t close or window blinds that didn’t close completely or properly. Given we didn’t spend much time at the hotel these inconveniences were not overly problematic but felt it reflected poorly on the overall quality of the hotel.

It’s okay!

The room was good. Needing minor repairs such as caulking around tub and floor. Wall can use a good cleaning if not new wall paper. The maids did a good job everyday. It would be nice if they would put a little store on there with toothpaste, water, etc. there is no coffee in or around the property! That’s a huge minus for me! The nearest coffee is about two blocks down and it wasn’t good at all. The lobby was fun and friendly fires in the Gas fire pits lit every night. They weren’t very accommodating when you needed bottles of water a plastic trash bag things of that sore overall, I give it 3 to 4 stars.

Loved staying here on my visit to San Francisco. I felt safe, rooms were turned over everyday and even a bonus had smores every night. The only downside was you could hear everytime someone turned the water on or moved around on the floor above.

Not quite what I was expecting

The common areas are very impressive, but the hotel itself and rooms are more of a superficial makeover of a very dated property. Rooms are pretty small and the decor is a kitschy nautical theme.

Staff at reception seemed a little less than enthused... Asked the porter about a place to eat and he directed me to 711 around the corner... the inside of the facility appeared to be in some need of routine maintenance such as painting (elevators had worn chipped paint). Rooms were decent though not the best by no means the worst... they served their purpose for pleasant stay..
