Good but not perfect
Start off with the positive. This is a lovely University of Cambridge themed Hilton hotel, with themed key cards, university mock memorabilia pictures etc. and replica antique furniture such as a captain’s desk. it is situated in a brilliant location to explore Cambridge and overlooks the river Cam, giving it pleasant views. We stayed in a premium room which was a good size, clean (excluding below), comfortable bed, spotless towels, great bathroom, good amenities and importantly, quiet, I never heard a thing once in our room. Reception staff are polite, welcoming and make an effort to help.
The negatives, housekeeping is somewhat lacking. It’s not that the towels, bedding or room were not clean, they were, excluding cobwebs which we had to ask to be cleaned twice before they were. Housekeeping failed everyday of the five nights we stayed to properly top up the tea, Nespresso pods, biscuits and water bottles. One day they only left one towel (two guests), another day they did not leave any toilet roll when there was only a few squares left on the final roll. Having to call / or walk to reception every day after getting back from a long day to have these basic things provided was rather irritating. They also never topped up the body wash in the shower despite this being requested. Something else I would note, there is no liquid hand soap in the rooms, which every other Hilton location I’ve stayed at for 6-7 years has.
I would still recommend this hotel, but it’s not perfect
