Unfortunately when we arrived, the hotel reception had booked someone else into our allocated room. After some concerns and time, we were reassured that it was a clerical error and not to be concerned that someone had used our ID in any way. After telling us the hotel was full for the evening we were found a room and offered a complimentary drink. The reception staff later rang our room to say the confusion had occurred due to a similar sound name.
It was very concerning that someone could go through the whole checking in/credit card/address and signature system and this error not have been sighted.
We have enjoyed staying at the Indigo hotels in the UK but this incident has unnerved us for further bookings.
