First off ill start with the highlight. The staff was amazing. Very helpful. The pool area was okay. Spemt most of the time in the ocean. The staff earned the 3 stars i give. The lowlights are typical Hawaii. 45 dollar resort fee for a bunch of stuff we didnt want or use. But go down to the beach and they wanted to rent us chairs and am umbrella. Literally charging for the things we want amd making us pay for stuff we didnt want. We just went to rental store and rented the chairs, umbrella, cooler amd boogie boards for like 140$ for the whole week. Then there was the 25$ self park or 35$ valet. Chose the valet just so i could tip the staff and help them out. All in all ill jist be staying in airbnbs for any future trip to hawaii. The safe was inoperable in the room and the lanai door had to be pryed open because the lock was stuck

Beach was incredible. The view is amazing and the whole area is so relaxing. We loved the local shopping and dining at Whaler's Village which is just a few minutes walk away. The staff is friendly and our room was cleaned and restocked daily.

Excellent location, so decent value for the price. But some things lacking such as outdated pool area, no gym, charge for folding beach chairs, restrictive use of beach towels (1 per guest). However, this older property is kept very clean.

Nice Hotel

Hotel is in a nice area. Both self service parking and valet parking is available at extra cost. You are able to walk directly from the levels of the parking garage to the corresponding floor where your room is located. The room itself is spacious. Our specific room did have sand on top of one of the beds. There is a small table, refrigerator, coffee cups/pods, and balcony which is a nice plus. Overall, staff in the hotel was friendly. There is a small store on the property for souvenirs as well as one that has snacks and drinks. The one restaurant on the property (Maui Brewing Co.) was subpar at best. The booth was extremely uncomfortable, our server was in a rush to go home, and the food was just ok. I recommend you eat elsewhere.

The room and the grounds were well kept. My issue was what wasn’t included. 1. The hotel does not offer shuttle service to or from the airport. Guests are expected to find their own transportation to the hotel which is 45 min away. Our plane didn’t land until 9 pm so at that time we only had 2 options; cab or Uber. We chose a cab as the Uber had surge pricing. The cost was $150 USD. 2. Upon arrival, we were told that even though we had pre-paid for the room, there is a $53 “resort fee” every day we are there. Since we are there for 8 nights, $424 USD. 3. When we woke up to have breakfast, we found only one restaurant on the property and the menu had limited items and even more limited cocktail options and everything was overpriced. $100 USD. 4. When looking for something to do on the property, we found absolutely nothing except a small pool. The resort does have direct beach access but it is not private and they do not supply their guests with chairs or umbrellas. Do they have them? Of course they do. $100 USD per day until 4 pm. Bottom line, this hotel has no business calling itself a resort as it has very limited amenities, only one overpriced restaurant and they essentially charge you to use the beach. I have never been more unsatisfied with a hotel in my life. They need to remove “resort” from their name. This is a hotel.

Great service, nice rooms and friendly staff. Beach rentals were on the pricier side, but typical for Maui. Breakfast buffet at Hele On was a good option in the mornings!

Loved: proximity to the beach, the heated pool, the grounds, the Hawaiian culture experiences, the local craftsmen displays, the farewell ceremony, the boardwalk along the beach to Whalers Village and beyond. Less appreciated: breakfast price tag, the car park cost, the restaurant onsite, the attitude of one of the bell boys/valet, the no daily cleaning service, the fact that I was told I had booked via a third party so would be relegated to the tower that doesn’t connect with the car park and has no elevator, the promise to have been upgraded to an ocean view and ended up with a partial view which is what I’d booked.
