Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Sorely in need of a refresh. Not worth $300+/ night. Our room 2902 Ewa tower was run down and dirty and should not be in the pool of active rooms. I wouldn’t stay in that room at half the price! Bath tub was delaminated and felt like would it break. Minimal hot water. Fixtures visibly worn. Outlets near the bed didn’t work. The walls were covered in grime and scuffs. They painted the peeling wallpaper with flat blue paint - should have at least sprung for satin so they could clean it. The bed skirts were stained. The sheets were stained. The furniture was chipped and ragged. The elevators in the ewa tower were not all working resulting and long, long waits. Keeping the place clean should be a bare minimum- at any price point. Aside from the poor maintenance- the pool is small- as in only ok for a few small kids at a time. The beach (only reason to stay here) is easy walk and of course great access to food and shops. We did not eat at the hotel. The staff were all nice but powerless/resigned to the condition hotel owners choose to keep things. We did get another room after 2 days since we complained in online survey. Little better condition as the staff told us but at least a new view.BTW- Beware Hertz rental in hotel as after 4pm return is impossibly difficult and hours long affair. Our family was really excited to visit Hawaii and it was a special trip despite the room. Will definitely be back to Waikiki- but will need to find another hotel given our bleh Hyatt experience.
