What a fantastic honeymoon! Everyone was so kind and went the extra mile for us. Our room was beautiful. The view was amazing. The staff very friendly. Our only complaint, if we could call it that, was that the bed was too soft.

This was by far one of the worst hotel stays I’ve ever had. The room felt like a cramped 5x5 box, no space to move around at all. It was dark, smelled musty, and our “view” was literally of a construction zone on another part of the hotel. The pool is outdated and uninviting, but we figured we’d try to enjoy the sun anyway. We sat there for hours and not once did anyone offer us a drink or food menu. Eventually we got so hungry we brought in some snacks, only to be told we weren’t allowed to have outside food. Amazing how staff can suddenly appear to enforce rules but not to actually help guests. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful the entire time. Every question felt like a bother to them. On top of that, everything is overpriced for what you’re getting. Save your money and stay somewhere else.

Our experience staying at the Moana Surfrider was overall excellent! The resort is a beautiful, classy historic hotel in a great location on Waikiki Beach, with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Our room was in the Diamond Tower and we found it spotless, roomy and with an amazing view of the beach and Diamond Head Crater. The breakfast and food we had at the patio restaurant was really good and service was on point. We recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Honolulu!!!

The Moana Surfrider is a historic and beautiful hotel on Waikiki beach. We had a wonderful time here. Everything about the property and stay was wonderful. Duke’s Waikiki is nearby. One of the best restaurants in Honolulu

wait until they finish renovation

In the past, I've always stayed at the Moana when I'm in Honolulu on business. I haven't been since the pandemic. so I was very disappointed. 1. construction has really worn everyone down. 2. very poor signage for very long walk to check in 3. check in was long wait - short staffed? only 2 people. 4. Phone service - doesn't give same information as checkin regarding rooms 5. no room service since pandemic 6. no dinner Monday & Tuesday 7. very small room.

The property has 5 star curb appeal, lobby looks great and the staff especially the pool house team were fantastic, however our room was dated, poorly appointed, which I understand will be addressed with a refurbishing program. The pool area is in urgent need of attention, the loungers are uncomfortable and in need of replacement, the whole area needs a little TLC. Pricing for the cabanas and sun loungers on the beach is a little pricey. That said, overall we enjoyed our stay at the Moana and will definitely return!

Absolutely loved our stay at the Moana surfrider. We had a diamond tower room with an oceanfront Juliette style balcony. The view was incredible and the hotel just had an amazing overall ‘vibe’ that couldn’t be compared to any other hotels on the Main Street. It was the perfect mix of upscale and tradition mixed with beach surfer vibes. Staff were so amazingly nice too!
