Parking is ridiculously expensive. You get nothing for the resort fee. Bottom sheet isn’t fitted and comes off as soon as you lie down. Staff was very nice and helpful. Food prices are extremely high, we only ate one meal at the property.

The tower room was well designed, attractive, clean and spacious. The balcony had two comfortable chairs with a view of the sea and rooftops. The staff on check in were helpful and friendly. That efficiency was marred by a clumsy notification process as I'd been told I would receive and email when the room was ready. I don't have international roamaing on my phone but hooking into the WIFI was easy. No email came. A rude person at the desk informed me they don't email and never do and that the room was ready. - at 3pm. Overall the arhcitecture and history are impressive but after stayiing here 3 times over the same number of decades I have decided much of the charm is lost. There are too many people roaming around the hotel. In a 7 days stay, not once was I able to get a lounge by the pool and it was always filled with children. Far from the adult experience I imagined. The food overall seems to be reheated and unhealthy. The catch of the day is served with vegetables and seemed to be the healthiest dish on the menu in the Beach Bar. The Surfrider poolside cafe was useful for some dishes to take back to the room like an Acai Bowl or a donut. Overall the charm is still part of the buidlings DNA but modern day people seem clueless as to how maintain the standard of the past with dignity.

So my only real requirement when booking originally was that it was on the sand and water. I wanted to be able to walk from hotel right to the beach. This place offers that and so much more. Friendly staff and we stayed in the new renovated tower with ocean view. Our room was super clean and we sat on the water it was great. The hotel itself offers a lot of history that we found out while staying there. Originally from 1901 so still had that old school feel when in the lobby and main part. We will definitely stay here again next time in town.

Great location on Waikiki but it’s really loud from the nightclub across the street. Beach is great but no chairs. Extremely small pool for the amount of guests and it’s like The Hunger Games to get a chair. Hotel is pretty & has a really good coffee shop open early.
