When we arrived they said that they had upgraded our room from an ocean view studio to a room that had a partition that separated the bedroom from the living room but had no ocean view. When I inquired about a different room with an ocean view, they said they had no more and I'd have to wait at least one day to move into one. The rooms were dated so if you like that, this is a quaint place to stay. The bathroom door had an extra towel rack installed behind it for no reason so the door only opened half way. I dont know how many times I ran into it in the middle of the night trying to use the bathroom. The kitchen had some basic items that allowed us to cook food a couple of days. If the staff didn't address your needs promptly, they would forget about you. I never heard back about the tv not working and it took several calls to get our bed linen changed. One day we showed up to a random blanket sitting on the bar. The location, pool, and beach were very nice and easy to access. No one bothered us on the beach like at other resorts. The one thing I could never get past was the taste of the water at this resort. Its horrible. Even the supposed water filter stations located on the property tasted the same as the water in the rooms. We ended up buying bottled water the whole time we stayed here.

While we enjoyed how close the property was to the beach, our room was about 15 minutes late and they didn’t let us know it was ready until we checked in with them again. There was also a bug in the room, inside one of the frames. We didn’t appreciate that they don’t do any cleaning service. We also paid for an ocean view room and did not get that, we didn’t want to fight it because the room took long enough despite us getting there a bit early.

AEI at Maui Kaanapali Villas was an amazing experience. The resort was very clean and the staff were very friendly. The beach was within a 1 minute walk from our villa, and was by far one of the best beaches for snorkeling and just hanging out. Perfect place for couples to go to, or bringing the family out somewhere nice and quiet. We will for sure be coming back to this resort!

I honestly wasn’t expecting much since we got such a fantastic deal, but I was extremely surprised by how beautiful and spacious this property is. Our villa was huge, with a full-size kitchen that allowed us to cook meals every night. Some of my favorite memories were gathering around the dining table with my adult kids—a rare treat given their busy schedules. The accommodations far exceeded my expectations. The villa came stocked with high-quality items—silverware, pots and pans, knives, dishes, and more. To top it off, they even provided extras like a cooler, umbrella, snorkeling gear, and beach chairs, which made our beach days so easy and enjoyable. This property truly offers so much value, comfort, and convenience. I would 100% stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing Maui getaway.
