Bed was comfortable. Room very small faced onto other peoples windows. Door in bathroom needs fixed for privacy. Tv was terrible wanted to relax in room second night could not get channel only radio would go on . Entertainment the same as last 3 times same scripts but still ok needs a change . Bar staff lovely. Food nice.. also wanted a seat for just two in dinning area lot where not reserved as yet martha told us we couldn't pick . Then a other couple who just arrived asked same question and got a seat next to window where we asked for and told no . If face dont fit ...

The hotel and bedroom does not resemble any of the pictures on the booking website...in a bad way. There was a gap between the bedroom door and the door frame, meaning you could see out into the corridor, but worse, people in the corridor could see in! There were a few people staying, or trying to stay at the hotel who, sadly appeared to have fallen on hard times. However, this was no reasonable excuse for the scene created in the reception on day one, when one person, covered in pee, was seen arguing with staff, and another unrelated person, spat on the floor, also in the reception. My mum used to stay at the viking hotel every year and loved it. We came in memory of her and to spread her ashes on the beach. The hotel experience did put a bit of a downer on the memories she used to share with us about how lovely this hotal once was. Investment and upgrading is long overdue. 2 people sharing a double room need 2 towels, not one to share...its not difficult to get simple things right. On the plus side, the breakfast included was at least decent. Overall, the stay at the Viking Hotel, as a whole, was not good value for money at £155 for 2 nights of feeling vulnerable, somewhat scared, and disappointed.

Same high standard overall as always!

Stayed in a twin room with sea view and very comfortble beds, away from the lift where we had asked for it to be when we booked. The food was, very very good. Plenty of choice and great quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. The on site cafe was a let down. the food was poor and very expensive. The entertainment was excellent, especially on the Saturday night. We have seen the dancers, called "The Sensation Dancers" numerous times and have never been impressed before - until this visit. Their dance routines were very good, the dancers were excellent and the costums they wore were much better than we have seen on previous vists. All in all, a vast improvement! The singers were also excellent and the show was very, very enjoyable - the best we have seen since we started staying at Choice Hotels. Another noteworthy point is that the drink prices were very good value and not silly hotel prices as you pay in many other hotels. One let down about the concert room was THE CHAIRS. Many of us suffered with a sore bottom after sitting on them for a while - and I MEAN SORE!! Overall, very good and we WILL be back.

OK the Viking Hotel is not the plushest of hotels but our room was clean and comfortable with everything one needed plus we had a seaview. All the bars were clean, comfortable and the bar service excellent. The same for the restaurant. We paid £201 each for a two night stay but that rate was fully inclusive of breakfast and dinner and a Saturday lunch plus free drinks (except for some more premium brands) and the food was excellent. Breakfast was buffet style but very well done and deserts at dinner were to die for. We will never forget the Black Forest Gateau and sticky toffee pudding! There is a good sized car park and of course the evening entertainment (2 comics and a singer on our stay each night and also free) was very enjoyable. Only one downside. The hotel is two buildings joined together, both halves have lifts which don't serve all floors and finding them is a problem. More help from the reception team in this respect would be helpful otherwise that team were pleasant an helpful. We will be returning.

Booking a weekend away and really looking forward to it, food was the best part of the weekend. It was truly delicious. The hotel room you couldn’t swing a cat in the bathroom, the shower was terrible. Then on Friday night to be in the entertainment room to getting up and going to the bar/toilets, to have to step over shake and vac and Hoover wires and watching cleaners hoovering up at 9:50 on a Friday night is not my idea of a good night out. It’s absolutely stupid, upon arrival at the hotel room we were shown that entertainment room so we could choose a table and it was completely empty why didn’t they clean it then? To be honest it’s been very poor, the entertainment we was told was supposed to be one of the best hotels, and from just staying at the Lyndene in February the entertainment they put on is unreal, this hotel the Viking just like the Claremont is the worst entertainment ever, very poor. Thankgod Blackpool has non stop entertainment cause for what we paid in the Viking was disappointing and I for one will never return. It’s got the potential to be so much better, maybe you should look around at what people want…. Poor, disappointing and expensive definitely not returning….
