I made the reservation from the website of a nice picture of a sea view room which was spacious and modern and updated. The room I got which did have a sea view, was dilapidated, cramped, and bacteria of different kinds growing in the shower and ceiling and on the windows. There were two cramped chairs without a table in front of the window. The shower was broken and leaked and didn't stand upright. The drain was clogged in the shower and backed up. The room wasn't sound proof and the neighbours were not respecting quiet hours after 1130 pm and had a party in their room until 4am. I couldn't sleep. The pictures of the rooms on the website do not match the rooms at all. Buyer Beware of False Advertising. Caveat Emptor!
My recent stay could only be described as a Fawlty Towers episode! As a disabled customer I found it extremely hard to get around the hotel. In and out the hotel was by steps and later found a door via the restaurant which had an awkward bumpy slope . Ladies Toilets down stairs. No accesible toilet on ground floor. Only two lifts for entire hotel which were slow. One lift you could just about fit in two people. They were filthy. The entire place is so run down. The ceilings are peeling. Mould in my bathroom. I had to walk up hill to get to my en-suite, which had black mould. The shower was awful. No toilet roll holder, toilet rolls just left on cistern. Doors to room were filthy. Beds very uncomfortable. The corridors creaked and there were holes in the floor, and corridor doors filthy.
Breakfast was ok, staff were helpful and friendly. To be honest, the staff were the only nice thing about the stay. Definitely not somewhere I will be returning to.
Burlington hotel is a clean and comfy hotel. The staff helpful and friendly. Is convenient for theatres and shops. Have stayed here many times its like coming home.
Stayed for a 3 night break to see family .
Bedding was clean and carpet was clean . few little issues the bathroom on first impressions was a little bit grubby. On closer inspection was dirty . lots of mould and mildew on the handrail to get in and out of the bath ,taps and round edges of bath lots of mould and mildew.
Basin had a crack in it and the plug didnt keep water from staying in the sink.
Reception staff very polite and welcoming.
Cleaning staff need to move away from the front of the entrance when smoking as on entering the hotel the smell of cigarettes was over powering and when we were waiting for a taxi
to go out staff were sat on the steps with a mop bucket and smoking . preventing guests entering the hotel also the smell is lingering .
Lots of open space in the hotel but needs a big deep clean and upgrade.
Good location for the pier .
Did not eat there so cant comment on the food .

Room was in need of critical attention to the decoration and shower tray had not seen a drop of bleach in months. Black mould around the shower tray, shower drain was full of mouldy hair and stank.
I shall not be staying there again

Great location but the hotel is very dated. The windows are hard to close because these are very old and the floors in the bedroom & bathroom are uneven. The hotel is noisy because of its age, there is very little insulation.
I booked a standard room for me and my husband but when we got there the room was very disappointing with one window quite high up that you cannot look outside and it was right at the back. There was also a big gap between the bed and the headboard as it was where their plugs were! So I asked to be transferred to a room with seaview with an extra £50. The room where we transferred was amazing with seaview, very clean, spacious and comfy. The whole hotel was old and needs renovating but they are doing their best to keep it clean. Breakfast was a standard buffet, on our first morning the staff were lovely but on our second morning there was one female staff who would only choose who to greet, not friendly at all to people like us, coloured people. The young lady at the reception was brilliant though, very friendly and warm(you should employ more people like her). She went the extra mile by letting me choose between 2 rooms where I want to be transferred to. She’s amazing!
It was awful. We paid for a superior room with sea view. We got the sea view! The rubbish bins weren't emptied the only thing done to our room was to fill.up.the beverages. The shower was filthy certainly not useable. Breakfast was ok evening menu was restricted (I suffer with a hyatus heria so there are things I cannot eat.) We have used the Burlington Hotel for many years but it had deteriorated to an unacceptable level.
