We stayed at the Cavendish last Friday 14th February, after attending a funeral, we were pleasantly surprised by Reception and foyer, however, @ 4AM there was a fire alarm, which was not handled very well, as a former fire Marshall, there was no protocol in place, no one at fire exit to guide us, and general confusion, every one made their way to Reception, who did not have a very hood grasp on the situation and seemed rather flustered and no one took control, if indeed there had been a fire, there would have been lots of casualties, this really spoiled our experience at the Cavendish, and when we tried to express our feelings in the morning were met with a very dismissive receptionist, who did not see how upset we were and we were not even offered breakfast for the inconvenience of the night before, or any explanation , simply saying that regular fire alarms and drills were deployed in day times, however people react so different in the middle of the night , disturbed from sleep, disoriented etc and with no guidance .
