Well located city centre hotel

Excellent city centre location. Hotel looks very high end in public areas. Rooms were clean, comfortable but rather functional. Well equipped although TV did not work well. Did not get chance to use leisure facilities

Spacious and comfy rooms. No temperature control in mine however. Mostly friendly staff, I had a small issue getting back into the hotel after 2am. Despite calling the number to which nobody answered and moving to the side entrance as the notice suggested. I was left waiting outside for 15 mins. There was nobody manning the desk so I'm not sure how the side enterence would have helped. When I finally did get seen, I mentioned my issue but don't remember much of an apology. The TV in my room wouldn't seem to work but as I was only stopping the one night, minor concern. The £15 for breakfast was laughable, barely warm and not great. I'm back in Sheffield next month for a wedding and think I'll be choosing to stop somewhere different as the price was just not worth it for me

Good location, decent sized room and comfortable bed. Shower and bathroom facilities clean. Gym facilities are good by hotel standards and the in room fridge was a bonus. The room aircom unit is dated, not easy to navigate, and not very effective. The hotel has 2 main lifts, one was out of order for my whole stay with no explanation or updates.

Perfect location for the theatre close to lots of restaurants and lovely walk through the winter gardens. Used the swimming pool and spa facilities which were a lovely addition to the stay. Only criticism was we could feel the springs through the mattress on our bed a new mattress is needed!

In a nice part of the city. Junior suite is a bigger room with a couple easy chairs and a big window. Good view of the square. Room was super cold but they brought a heater. Breakfast area is really nice: super light next to a glass building with tropical plants.

Looks tired, the check in area is nice but rooms looks tired and worn. Stains on carpets and mold in the shower. TV did not work and was not replaced during my stay and the phone apparently didn’t work either. I ordered food through a delivery service and never got it as the front desk wouldn’t accept it, they said they clalled the room but the phone never rang. They were not very helpful at the front desk either. Will not recommend or stay at this mercure again!

Sad dirty hotel in need of attention

Awful hotel. This is old, dirty and in need of some serious attention. The shower has mildew, the ceiling is stained, the carpet is stained and nasty and heat - nothing. They even had a space heater in the suite but even that didn’t work. Don’t stay here.

Great Hotel in a Brilliant Location

Great stay at this excellently located hotel in Sheffield city centre. Only 10 minutes walk from the train station. Upgraded to a junior suite, which was spacious, had great views and a lovely shower and separate bath in the bathroom. Good breakfast whichwas buffet style, with everything from ceral and fruit, to a full english with danish pastries if you are not too full. Would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again. The spa facilities were also excellent.

Perfect location

Great location, friendly staff, rooms very spacious. Didn’t use the spa facilities but they looked very nice . Stayed for 2 nights. Disappointed that there are no recycling bins in the hotel .
