Pleasantly surprised.

The service during our stay was second to none. The concierge helped with our bags during check in and check out which was really appreciated. The hotel were also happy to store our luggage the day of check out. The room was recently refurbished to an excellent standard. Will definitely be back.

Another good stay in Brighton. Love the location & the weather was great, so that was a bonus!! My only disappointment was we never had a bath in our room which I would have expected.

A lovely old property which still feels special and luxurious in the public spaces. Rooms are understandably small and town view isn’t attractive , but public areas make up for it

Big, old rooms with terrible beds. They are advertised as king size, but they’re two mattresses pushed together, so if you’re a single sleeper, you’ll distinctly feel the gap in the middle. Very uncomfortable given the price. They also have the strangest room keys I have ever seen, with no explanation as to how they work upon check in. I had to go back down to reception and have one of the staff come with me to open the door, and even she struggled lol. Plus sides - the breakfast was excellent, the location is ideal, and it’s pretty historic, so taking the stairs is always worth it if you can. Hotels in the UK tend to be pretty bog standard, with fewer / lower customer service standards than other countries, and this hotel is right up there with the rest of them.
