I had to complain about dark yellow water from bathroom taps. Our room located close to a lift. Guests using lifts all hours of the night. My elderly mother and myself, we hardly slept from the continuous loud noises from groups of people, but that lift was no use to us because we were on they called it "upper ground level" so we had to climb 18 steps each time as the lift there only went up to 2nd floor and not the level we were on. The other lift was out of service the whole time. The beds were rock hard, at night room was cold in evenings. The manager Timothy seemed annoyed we had to complain as he never even apologised once! We would not stay there again, even if it was free! Only a dark skin man in the dining area was one of the nicest people you could meet, so helpful considerate and always smiling and greeting customers. Unfortunately i forgot to get his name. Dont know how he works with the other cold hearted staff. Dont bother stressing yourselves and better still dont take your elderly relatives there! Nice view of the beach, thats it!

This place was more like an outdated care home than a hotel… the smell, the decor, the breakfast. Massively disappointing- the rooms look nothing like the picture and we couldn’t even go to the pool (the one thing we booked it for) as we were down for work and it opened at 8, and last entry at 5. Only parking was next door and cost £25 for 24 hours which is completely insane. also! If you’re vegan avoid avoid avoid. I got breakfast, asked what was vegan and the server said ‘fruit’, I said ‘is that really all that’s vegan and he said yes. So apparently their toast, beans and cereal aren’t vegan? For £13 (I think) breakfast only having fruit for a vegan is appalling. So all in all- just don’t go here!

A shadow of former self but still worth stayon

The Royal Bath is, like Bournemouth itself a shadow of it's former self. But the staff were friendly, the rooms clean and light and airy. It was a lovely stay.

No air conditioner. Fan didn't work in bathroom and a socket hanging of the wall. Put me in a room I didn't book. Not happy with it.

Beautiful views, spacious gardens, historic site, good food, nice people serving and a fabulous location! Old bones, but it is the original Hotel in Bournemouth…since the 1800’s… and right next to the famous Pier!

What appears to be an old luxury hotel that is long past its glory days. The rooms are outdated with marks on the walls, tiny table top PC screens for TV, age stained, smelly bathrooms, and rickety creaking beds. The pool, which is the highlight of the hotel, charges extra for entry - not much, but considering that’s the reason we booked the place - it was kind of annoying. Lastly, the staff was mostly useless - I booked two rooms, one for me and my wife and one for my kids, next to each other. We went into the room to discover it was not vacuumed, with paper bits and crud on the floor and some odd stain with black curly hairs in the shower. When I went down to complain, they offered to move us to another room - at the other side of the hotel far away from our kids’ room. I explained that was not possible, and that I just want them to send someone to clean it - to which they replied they have no one available to clean rooms (this was at 7PM btw). Finally they had to call a manager, as cleaning seems to be below the capacity of rank and file employees - and the poor guy had to go and clean the room. Long story short - this is listed as a 4 star hotel when in reality it’s maybe a 2.5-3. I would not book it again.

We booked your hotel because it looks lovely and welcoming. My partner and I recently stayed at the royal bath hotel in Bournemouth on the 17th of may , we were looking forward to our stay as this was our first night away since having a baby and for our anniversary, unfortunately while staying at this venue we did not have a good experience, the bed was extremely unstable and was only being held up by little wood legs with wheels, we got absolutely no sleep due to this as even with slightest movement the bed would shake and creek which made us anxious and concerned the bed would collapse. We had a full day of activities the next day which we were unable to do due to having no sleep and being to tired. The result of this was just getting the train home early. This ruined our excitement to have an uninterrupted nights sleep after having our baby. When we brought this issue up to your staff we were met with dirty looks and almost accused of lying. They were very unhelpful. After paying close to £150 for this room we did not expect this. We have been left very disappointed. My partner and I had no more then a hour of sleep at a time before waking up because of the bed. We were offered a 10% refund but I feel this just is not a good enough as the whole reason you stay at a hotel is to get a good night sleep ready for whatever is planned which we did not get. This is not acceptable and I hope to get a better response from you.

Great stag

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. To our surprise and delight, we were upgraded to a better room without even asking — a beautiful gesture that made our trip even more special. The upgraded room was spacious, spotless, and had stunning views. Every detail, from the luxurious bedding to the thoughtful amenities, exceeded our expectations. Service throughout our stay was exceptional — friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The hotel’s location was perfect for everything we wanted to do, and the facilities were top-notch. We can’t recommend this hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning. Five stars all the way!

So we’ve recently returned from Malaga where we thoroughly enjoyed the finer things in life, and decided to book a luxury room in Bournemouth to complete our 5 day holiday, when prompted with our stay we couldn’t turn down the opportunity to indulge in the onsite facilities such as steam room, sauna and jacuzzi so we threw caution to the wind and booked it, when we walked in it all seemed sunshine and rainbows and the place itself was singing and dancing, when we entered the room we soon discovered that there was a mess on the floor just underneath the radiator (think it was missed) but that didn’t bother us toooo much was almost an overwhelming feeling of “what next” if you feel me….anyway…as the evening progressed my partner became very hot so I reached for the fan…to my be-wilderness it didn’t work despite plugging it in in several of the random sockets located in the room, we soon realised that we were to roast that evening in an already small room…after that ordeal we both looked at one another and thought we’d give a good nights sleep a go…and the bed felt like I was sleeping on 3 sheets of plasterboard and woke up with what can only be described as a hint of rigamortis…I’ve had some stiff episodes in my life but that one topped the lot…ultimately I’d give this hotel not a very good rating I’m not angry, just very disappointed
