I stayed in Room 83 at The Bath Hotel in Bournemouth, and it was one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had—especially for a supposed 4-star property. The room is awkwardly located in the entrance to the Health Club and feels like a repurposed storage area. It genuinely resembled a cupboard under the stairs.
The walls were paper-thin, so I could hear every conversation and door closing in the busy hallway outside. It was impossible to relax, let alone sleep.
The condition of the room was far below standard. Dust was thick around the low-level air vents (photos attached), and the bed was propped up with mismatched wooden blocks—completely unacceptable. The bedding even had visible burn holes.
The bathroom appeared to be a cheap, self-contained unit with a persistent strange smell. Filtration devices had been fitted to the taps and shower, which gave the impression the hotel’s water supply may not be safe to drink.
This room simply should not be offered to guests. The overall experience was far from the quality expected from a 4-star hotel. I would strongly advise avoiding Room 83 at a minimum—and personally, I wouldn’t return to the property at all.
