Average room - one small window blocked by a wall, but clean. No hot water in the morning unfortunately. Staff not particularly hospitable, bordering rude. Sadly won’t be staying again

The water was not hot in the evening or morning when i wanted a shower. The bed did not face the TV .My partner had to look over my shoulder to watch TV in bed. Had to sit on the edge of the bed to watch TV. The 3 types of coffee PODS were not labelled. Not sure what type they were. On arrival our selected room was not reserved despite me checking in on line that morning. Luckily they had a deluxe room available so free upgrade

Hotel was clean, room great. Unfortunately we woke to find no running hot water. Despite multiple attempts to call the reception all calls went unanswered. Both me and my wife had to take cold showers. Upon checkout informed the reception of the issue. Although I explained I wanted a partial refund for the inconvenience I was advised management would need to be consulted and I would hear them later during the day. Still no call received at this time.

Room was very nice, modern & confortable. Easy parking at QPark, discounted through hotel link. Convenient for O2 gig. Kettle & hairdryer issues & no warm water for shower either at 8am or 9am when my friend & then I had showers. Kettle didn't automatically switch off when boiled & caused smoke alarm to activate unbeknown to me as no sound. Male from reception was banging on my door repeatable & I panicked as no idea what was going on. I answered immediately & he seemed agitated with me through no fault of my own & at that point I didnt know why it had activated. After I was dressed I popped down to reception for more milk to make another cup of tea & point out the hairdryer plug prong was bent over & would not work in socket. I explained it may have been the kettle that had set off alarm earlier as where it was situated in the room was directly under the smoke alarm & it was built into a shelf part way up inner pillar wall area. 5 minutes after I boiled kettle again, standing by it to switch off as soon as it hit boiling point, the same man receptionist & a maintenance guy were at my door again. The male receptionist was again agitated, quite abrupt & rude towards me as seemingly it had set alarm off again, unbeknown to me. They demanded kettle from me & did not replace this. This situation spoilt my overall experience & don't expect to be spoken to in this way as a customer stating at the hotel

There did not seem to be sufficient staff. Everywhere was dark and insufficiently iluminated When fire alarms going off caused consrernation among many of the guests it was another guest who having spoken to the desk clerk, took the initiative and informed the assembled people that the alarm was false. There was no hot water in the morning for bathrooms and showers. After breakfast it was on but even minimum settings were scalding hot the hotel might easily have incurred injury claims from guests. Dirty grout and loose attachments in thr bathroom were unsightly and hazardous. The room we stayed in backed onto an indoor area filleed with chain eateries and the sound insulation afforded by the windows to the room was not adequate.

Good location in the Centre but not too noisy. Modern decor but upkeep not great (bathroom had so many water marks and grouting messy). Also had put a note in the booking saying we needed two beds and when we arrived the sofa bed still wasn't made up, but to be fair housekeeping rectified this by the time we came back from dinner. Having said all this, I would stay here again.

Checked in at 3pm and just dropped cases in room and went out for the evening. Room looked ok initially. Later in the evening when we came back to the hotel we noticed that the towels had been used in the bathroom as they were hung over the bath. There was no fresh towels, the bathroom bin was full, the bath mat was in place in the bath and there were toothpaste marks around the sink. I contacted reception to advise and they just asked how many towels we needed. The coffee mugs and glasses had also been used and I advised them of this when they brought the towels and they stated they would bring some fresh ones in the morning (they didn’t). We were tired and it was late so didn’t want to make a fuss but feel we should’ve been offered a room that had been cleaned or offered to have it cleaned or even an apology. Told reception of the issue and all they said was they’d pass it on to housekeeping. I made a formal complaint and they also said they would pass it on to housekeeping. I don’t feel this is fair compensation for having to stay in an unclean hotel room. Will not be using this hotel in a hurry again.

Fab location, OK service, disappointing breakfast

Check in was slow. 3 desks, 3 staff. 1 staff just stood there ignoring the queue going out of the door. Turns out her computer wasn't working but rather than putting a sign, telling people this or stepping out of the way so it appeared unmanned until the queue clear she just stood there. Very unprofessional. The room was lovely. Spacious and clean however we were placed in a room with a high up tiny prison like window that looked on to a brick wall. Very disappointing. I like to see where I'm staying and appreciate natural light. To be in a superior room with sub par window doesn't make sense. Breakfast was also disappointing. The heat lamps are useless. The food was cold. Getting the attention of the chef to ask for food topping up or a fried egg was a real task. They ran out of pastries and the coffee and bread are poor quality. Save yourself the cost and get to wetherspoons down the road. The location is fantastic. The hotel is nice and presentable as well as quiet. I would recommend but as I say there's some tweaks needed and I will make sure I ask for a decent window next time
