The front desk person had the personality of a dead frog. Not pleasant at all. The room was ok but nothing special. The bathtub overflowed as the switch to turn on the shower was not working. Water all over the floor.

My non smoking room smelled of cigarette smoke..after my first shower nicotine (orange stuff) dripped down the walls in the room from the ceiling. They need to wash the walls completely to get rid of the old smell. On the other hand the bed was quite comfy and the blanket kept me toasty warm. The room was chilly and when I turned up the thermostat no heat came on. And the phone in the room did not work.

We had forgot our pillows and went back to get them in the evening and they stated that they threw them out. Highly disappointed. My pillow cost more than the night stay.

Located just on the outskirts of downtown, need to be careful if walking at night. Budget place, great value, staff were outstanding. Older building, but clean. Nice and close to walk to arena and other spots downtown. FREE Parking!

I recently stayed at Island Travel Inn and, unfortunately, cannot recommend it. The property is old and poorly maintained. The room I stayed in was not clean, especially under the bed, where visible dust and dirt had clearly been neglected for some time. The lift felt unreliable; it moved slowly, creaked constantly, and gave the impression it could break down at any moment. Although I did not drive, I noticed that the surrounding environment felt unsafe. A number of homeless and mentally ill individuals were loitering just outside the inn and along the nearby streets. This created a sense of discomfort, especially at night. While the inn is located in downtown Victoria, the area around it did not feel secure or welcoming. In short, the hotel may offer a central location, but its poor hygiene standards, aged facilities, and unsettling surroundings made the stay unpleasant.

It reeked of cigarette smoke. It looked out on a safe injection site. Yelling, screaming and police constantly attending there. Very run down, inside and out. The furniture was very battered. (it looked like it had been picked up off of the side of the road). I seriously can't think of one redeeming thing to say about it. Very very sad really. Staff were disinterested. Also, filthy.
