Fine for Vancouver

The hotel is affordable and close to the skytrain (note it is in Zone 2, so $1.30 more per trip if going downtown). Breakfast is fine too. Hotel serves its purpose but nothing too special. Airport shuttle is very convenient.

If you are going on a cruise and wanting to save a good amount of money on a hotel stay before you disembark then the Abercorn will do. But, the property needs some serious updating and work. Don't expect a five star hotel . . . 3 star may be pushing it.

The property's location was ideal. Walking distance to food places and the train station. While the hotel was aged and in need of some decorative and regular maintenance, the cost to stay there was relatively lower than neighboring hotels. No room service was available during our 3 night stay but this was ok for us. Request for clean towels and toiletries was immediately provided. The breakfast was limited but sufficient.

This hotel was great for our needs. A little older but we just needed a place to stay the night before getting on our cruise. Rooms were basic, had mini fridge, bed was comfy. All the workers were fantastic and polite, answered any questions we asked. We would stay there again.

Good breakfast options. Staff friendly. Close to the airport. I had to wait a bit for the shuttle to transfer from airport to the hotel. I think the hotel has fewer shuttles than other hotels, but eventually it came. Over I had good experience.

The stay at the hotel was alright. The staff were kind and friendly and greeted each guest at the front desk. Free shuttle bus to the airport. Free complimentary breakfast that runs from 6:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Fairly good walking distance to the sky-train (about 10 min. walk). However, there were a couple of downsides to this hotel. First, the driver of the hotel expects them to be themselves, feeling a bit pressured when they are asked about it. Second, the gym is not open 24 hours (it only runs 6 AM-10 PM). The breakfast selections are mostly bread, muffins, and croissants. There is breakfast bacon sandwich which requires microwaving. I wish there were a bit more variety, such as fruit salads or ham/sausages. Another downside is that you have to request a room cleaning. No room service. There was one time when they forgot to do the room cleaning. To accommodate, they give extra towels. Overall, I would recommend to this hotel if you are staying 2 days and 1 night.

Our family stayed at Abercorn based on price and morning breakfast buffet. It was all very adequate. The building and room were rather dingy and dumpy- though clean the whole hotel looked very worn out. Staff was wonderful- helpful and kind. Breakfast buffet also was adequate for feeding families with children. Again the staff were extremely helpful. The restaurant next had very authentic Chinese and other Asian cuisine but was very dirty on the outside- inside was okay.

The room had a strong musty odor that never improved and there was mold in the bathroom. The air conditioner worked but drained a huge amount of water onto the floor. The staff was friendly and helpful at check in and check out.
