Very convenient location off the Yamanote line that is away from the hustle and bustle of the other stops. Room itself was actually quite small and cramp. If you had anything larger than a carry-on luggage, it would likely block the door. Stayed in a double room for reference but it was one bed not two twin beds. (It was likely my mistake in booking it - but still this room was tiny). Other than size, amenities, cleanliness and comfort of room was nice. There is also a nice public bath/onsen on the 14th floor.

This hotel is located near the Sugamo station, which provides easy access to the trains. Many local various restaurants are good. We did enjoy the stay. However, it’s quite stuffy in the hallways of the hotel. The rooms do have air conditioners which are a must in June/ July. The bathrooms are not what I expected.

Review

The room was small and the aircon bought the smoke smell into the room (from the smokers rooms). So now all my stuff smells and needs to be washed. The onsen is clorinated not sure if there was minerals added tbh. Signage wasn’t English. Had to put towels in the corridors to get clean towels. They don’t enter the room. The beds are small and hard.

The room is very small and we need to put one big luggage on top of the other. But the location is very good and it is close to subway station and get get around very easily. The neighborhood has good food places we explored.

Great Budget Hotel in a Quiet Local Neighborhood

I’ve stayed here at least 15 times over the last ten years. It’s a great budget option for those who don’t mind smaller, no frills rooms. I like that they have a spa upstairs and it’s 2 minutes walking distance to Yamanote station. The staff here is always accommodating. Highly recommend!

Im glad I booked this Hotel its right next to the train staion and so convenient, many restaurants and bars, 7 eleven, pharmacy the hotel is really nice and clean friendly staff would definitely return and stay at Apa Hotel Sugamo.

This hotel was easy to checkin to. The staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and well kept. The only negative we had which was easily turned into a positive was that each day they provided new towels and robes and toiletries but didn’t automatically remove the old ones which in a 10m2 room begins to take up room quickly. This was easily resolved. Would highly recommend, just beware, the double room is still very small. Only 10m2, can’t have suitcases open.
