Elegant and efficient entrance and lobby. Thoughtful, professional front-desk staff, clean, comfortable rooms. Top of the Mark, rooftop bar, was fantastic! Quintessential San Francisco - panoramic views, great drinks, live music, personable service ("Ms. H., how are you enjoying your evening at The Mark? Please let me know if this is anything else you require.") Timeless charm - felt like Tony Bennett might come in to belt out 'Fly Me To The Moon.'

Top of the Mark is outstanding! Cable car stops in front of the hotel. Walk down hill into Chinatown and cable car takes you back up the hill. Uber rides are a 2 minute wait, go to North Beach and have a fish dinner at Soto Mare. You need lots of time to see The City! This is an excellent 5 star hotel. BOOK IT.

The exterior entrance and lobby are lovely. But the room conditions and room hallways are terrible. This hotel needs an urgent renovation. Carpets and wall papers are old, dirty and torn. Furniture and doors are falling apart. One would expect an Intercontinental to be top quality, especially at these prices. Extremely disappointed, will never return. Breakfast was extremely expensive and average at best. I understand it is an old building, but that does not justify the total abandonment of the room conditions.

We had an excellent stay. The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and has friendly and helpful staff. The ping-pong table in the game area was a nice bonus for me and my teenage kid. The cable car stop is right outside of the hotel and another route super nearby. Several excellent breakfast places (as well as Trader Joe's) are nearby. The hotel is on the top of the Nob Hill, so walking to and from is a nice workout. We loved everything about the hotel and our stay!

Our room was not only meticulously clean, but while the rooms and amenities might feel a bit dated, this actually enhanced our experience, lending an excellent older San Francisco feel that we truly appreciated. It offered breathtaking views of the city skyline, which was a constant delight. The attention to detail in the room's design and amenities, including that classic charm, made it a truly comfortable sanctuary. Wonderful wedding weekend.

Was a wedding weekend for my youngest son. We stayed with him his two brothers and their partners. This required 4 rooms with different checkout days and special access to leave flowers and champagne for the newlyweds. Hotel accommodated us in four adjacent rooms which made everything feel special.
