Enjoyed staying at The Sofia - the room was fantastic. The room was modern, very clean and very comfy. Location was ideal as well. The rooms were awfully warm though - placed AC at 68, and after 4 hours, the room remained warm. Called front desk 4 times until they picked up, and when he did, he abruptly told me the rooms don’t go below 74, and he couldn’t help me. The lobby had stained carpets as well, so it wasn’t the best first sight when arriving.

Great old historic hotel. Good service. Nifty flavored water station at desk and water stations on each floor. Exercise room good. Drawback is just the area… smelly sidewalks from homelessness.

Convenient location in gas lamp District

My wife and I stayed here for a long weekend because we were going to baseball games at Petco Park. It’s an easy walk to the stadium and to many restaurants and activities in the area, including the ferry to Coronado Island, where we spent one afternoon, The hotel offers a free guided walking tour every weekend at 9 AM and we took advantage of it to learn more about the area. The staff were very friendly and our bed was very comfortable. We highly recommend staying here.

Beds were comfy, room was clean, location was near Little Italy where we found great food. The hotel had some great custom touches which made out stay special. The restaurant will be a great addition.

Horrible worst that motel 6

The room I was given was nothing in comparison to the photos listed when making my reservation I thought I paid for an expensive room with a nice ambiance and I got stuck in a box room that was heavily dusty and was equivalent to being book at a motel 6. I had a celebration planned spent over 100 dollars on decoration which left me highly upset. I made the staff aware. They said the manager would be there in the morning. Went in the morning no manger and I have yet to be contacted.
