Room wasnt fully clean. Shower drain was clogged with hair, hand prints all over the room and cup rings on the sink. Most uncomfortable bed, pillows and sheets.

We had a wonderful time at the Sophia Hotel. They upgraded us to the top floor with a recently renovated room. Had a few housekeeping requests, which were handled immediately. Polite and accommodating staff. Friendly Valet attendants.

Staff really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The location is very convenient. We ended up taking the bus to and from the airport and hotel. The Gaslamp district is a quick walk and so was the waterfront. If you can, you should take the free walking tour and then.give her a good tip. We learned.a lot of San Diego history. I had no idea Wyatt Earp had a poker hall there, nor that Charles Lindburg stayed at the WMCA just down the street while he built the Spirit of St Louis. The Nespresso machine in the room was very nice too. We also enjoyed the free bikes and rode them to Balboa Park.

The hotel is very quiet, the staff is friendly, 24/7 and very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable, matress and pillows were super comfy and I slept very well. 5 min walk from Gaslamp Downtown, very convenient!

The place is okay, but they don't provide the upgrade as stated on Expedia. In fact, they never do. Their complimentary drink is just a bottle of water! Everything for the coffee (Nespresso) comes at an extra cost. Very poor amenities.

So-so service...parking is $30 a block away!

We checked in, the clerk wasn't friendly but she wasn't rude either...I asked about the parking and she said since we have a placard it would be free to park where the meters are otherwise it's still $40 to park in the lot behind the hotel, but there was no rush to move the car. Well, the was misinformation: we went to the room to drop off out bags and freshen up before heading to get lunch and when we walked outside to check the metered parking area, there was a $60 ticket on my window from the parking attendant. I had to explain to her what we had been told and the attendant asked for our parking slip from the hotel, I explained again that we didn't get one because we have the placard and could park on the street when a metered spot opened up. She finally took the ticket back but I had to move the car right then. When we got back to the hotel, we saw a clerk giving someone bottled water so we assumed it was already in our room since it hadn't been given earlier when we checked in. Well, no that was not the case. We went back to lobby, got the bottles of water and were told they had filling stations on the 1st, 3rd & 5th floors. We left for our event and returned around midnight. The hotel was very quiet which was awesome. the next morning around 8 we went to the lobby to use the wifi because the room's wifi was extremely spotty. When I asked the same clerk who checked us in where the water station was on the 1st floor, she said "there's not one down here", more misinfo!
